6 months ago yesterday.

Yesterday's chip paper for many.

I still think what happened is a national disgrace.
Respect and thoughts to those that were there and survived that night. Very harrowing listening to the news yesterday.

Firstly I cannot imagine the pain suffering these folks have been and are going through.
I hope I never do, and wish they can eventually find some peace and solice.
I do though question as to whether the enquiry will be doctored to favour what would be a good outcome for the morals of the whole thing.
Irrellivant of whom it upsets.
Example is what if the cladding has been deemed to pass the minimum requirement.
Reference British standards and installation was correct.
What if it is found not to have been a fridge which caused it.
What if the fire brigade sent people back to their flats not knowing the final implications.
Is it going to be a case of whoever shouts loudest gets the answers they want.
This will set a precident in enquiries and social housing going forward so cannot be used as a stick to beat up anyone deemed to have been or be on the wrong side.
Controversial I know but it must be able to lay the truth on the table even if it upsets people.
That can only benefit EVERYONE.

The flats were a firetrap. All we need to know is 'why?' and who was responsible and for them to be severely punished. It's not arson, but only just.

More importantly there are hundreds of potential Grenfells across the country, ensuring it doesn't happen again is paramount.

The powers that be that have the ability to ensure that don't really care. Now if it had been a 5* palatial hotel full of the elite that had gone up in smoke you can be sure the problems would have already been fixed.

I agree nick for once!
But not allowing a whitewash of facts is also paramount.
As this will not protect people going forwards.
The truth and facts may hurt.
There is no guarantee it won't happen again sadly.
It was a perfect storm that night for want of a better description.
Recommendations have to be adhered to by both the tenants of these homes and the people in charge.
That's the only way this enquiry is going to be beneficial and give maximum protection.

Not true Kermit
You can't say that with no examples.
Unless there are some!
You've said IF with no evidence I'm afraid.

In fact Kermit there is a block I work in sometimes that has the same cladding.
High end places but it hasn't been removed.
Fire marshal's 24/7 as all potential buildings.
Not as cut and dried as some persieve.

£7.12 persieve here.

I'm of the opinion that some of the major factors in the tragedy are profit, share dividends and cost cutting.

It's all about the dollar innit.
Councils have had up to 80% of budgets slashed, so theyre more likely to go for cheap options too.

I'm sure she'd love that on Christmas morning.
But money isn't just an issue nick.
It happens all the world over trying to save a dollar.
The cladding was probably still within the BS
so like I said a perfect storm.
It's been installed in 100's of places and so far only one gone up
Grenfell
Would it be ok if it was a high class residency as that's the impression I'm getting here.
Then it won't matter as only rich people died!!!!!
