I said at the start of this thread that Trump was going nowhere from anything to do with Russia and back then a separate set swore blind otherwise.

I and others were right and they were wrong.....and nowhere to be seen once the writing was on the wall.

Now we have a different set.

At least Maine is entertaining.

Only in summertime, unless you like snowshoeing and sub thermal temperatures.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

The burden of proof needed for an impeachment is very different to that in a Court of law.

We all know that clever criminals, especially super rich ones, can get away with things. That doesn't mean that they aren't criminals!

That’s true. Hence the almost exclusive presence of poor people in prison, particularly on death row. It’s some irony that the more money made from crime the better the chance of getting away with it.

Once again I will point out that this should be called the “Donald Trump Thread”.

Be that as it may, on reading the below story, it truly illustrates how far America has fallen under a Trump presidency.

That this would even be a topic of discussion is ridiculous, embarrassing and pathetic.

I remember how the democrats treated McCain during his presidential run....so it's kind of amusing how they use him now.

Just be thankful I'm not president.

Solid bit of whataboutery there, Stirlingsays.

No one is using McCain, except perhaps Klobuchar who got rebuked by his daughter.

This story isn’t about democrats though, it’s about a world in which the name of a USS warship has to be hidden because it will upset the president who has a mental age of 5.

Truly f***ing embarrassing.

True, but I also found it kind of amusing.

The feud carries on beyond the grave!

To my mind, TUX, you almost always make a very valid contribution and have a suitably sensible suspicion of the powers that be. That's why I think your focus on Bitcoin makes a lot of sense. You're right about the likes of Assange too, and Snowden too at that. Unfortunately, though, Trump just offers another guise, another disguised incarnation of exactly the same crap. Someone in it for himself, offering political positions to his billionaire friends, filtering money into his coffers through whatever means to benefit him and his. He has no genuine comprehension or care for the likes of us, other than how he can utilise it to benefit himself. He's taking people for suckers.

If I lived stateside, in 2020, I'd vote for Bernie, as he's about the only person of either party with a proven history for practicing what he preaches. Not as though he'll win the nomination anyway but he's stood up to be counted when it mattered regardless of what was politically expedient, and comparatively speaking he's not in it for the money. He's consistently expressed concern for the neglected white working class, as well as being front and centre of the civil rights movement, so he doesn't fit into the cliched Hillary style 'let's reel off every minority going to the exclusion of whites' box, nor does he tick the nod nod wink wink nature of Trump's appeal to the white nationalism. He's just a decent guy doing his best for the country he loves. I'm not in perfectly alignment with him by any stretch, but to me what he stands for counts for something and is genuine and heartfelt. In politics that's a rare bird indeed. Beyond that, if I lived there all in likelihood I wouldn't bother voting for any of the parade of fools from either side of the isle.

1. Yep, making the anger aimed at Trump in particular beyond ridiculous. Similar s*** but a different day. People are stupid.
2. Ron Paul should've got the gig long ago but guess what, he's also 'anti-Federal Reserve' so it was never going to happen.

Politics has bored the arse off of me for half of my life (25yrs) but the last few years have been fun. Long may it last

Yes, there's no doubt a good argument that anyone truly thinking of Joe Public rather than their billionaire buddies never gets within 100 miles of the presidency to begin with!

Ignore those (politicians) who continually make you/us poorer and just do your own thing.

Simple.

Fantasist.

The Cambridge dictionary defines "fantasist" as :-"someone who often has fantasies, or who confuses fantasy and what is real."

Strangely that seems a pretty accurate description of you, rather than of me.

I observe. I read. Then I apply common sense. Very few things that walk like ducks and quack like ducks aren't ducks. Very few innocent men find it necessary to proclaim their innocence quite as often as Trump does. They let their innocence speak for itself confident that no degree of investigation can uncover that which does not exist.

So I will remind you of that jibe when all of this is finally done and dusted. That may well be some years hence, after Trump has been voted out and his immunity from prosecution is at an end.

As I said there is a long long way to go before this particular stain on western democracy has been put in the washing machine for cleansing. As suggested by Lindsey Graham.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

It’s also possible that very few innocent people are accused of malfeasance as regularly. If he said nothing he’d be accused of not being able to provide any defence. I have no idea if he’s guilty or not but if he isn’t why shouldn’t he say so?

When all is said and done and Trump has seen out his term you won't be on this thread because you will have disappeared like all the others.

Trump might well lose the next election but he isn't going anywhere on 'Russian collusion' which was a lie from the beginning.

You are just another of the deluded who push falsehoods because of what you want to be true rather than what can be proven to be.
