I criticise Trump where I disagree and praise him where I do agree...Not that it matters a hill of beans....The reality is I disagree far more than agree. But I'm not a demoniser like you seem to be here.

As for a bubble...maybe, but the reality is that the markets have risen because he is there. Your denial was just irrational....but I don't really expect anything different from you.

Apologist has a specific meaning and it fits exactly what you have been doing. At 73 I am hardly immature, and I try hard not to hate anyone. I think Trump is probably quite mentally ill, but that doesn't mean he isn't dangerous.

The markets have risen despite Trump and not because of him. It was expected that he would pass tax reduction legislation but despite him failing to do so they have still risen. As he has failed with all his key promises and it seems his days in the WH are numbered the chances of tax law changing get remoter by the day. When the crash comes will be take responsibility for that? Or will he blame Obama, Hillary, The Democrats, the MSM, the Muslims, the Mexicans or the "Deep State?

It's almost as if when what amounts to an organised armed militia comes to town, things go wrong. But never mind, because there was fault 'on both sides'.

Trump had no problem going full force about college campus trouble, but was awfully shy and circumspect when nazi types come to town. This isn't a matter of degrees, how do you screw this one up?

The repeal of Obamacare was step one of tax reform. They needed the $800 billion in cuts to Medicaid to offset the tax cuts and failing to kill Obamacare means they don't have that money to play with.

I agree with your first sentence. I don't agree with the criticism of Trump....over and above saying that he tries to straddle the line and go more soft focus on where his votes come from....Obama did it with black lives matter....But Trump has actually attacked the KKK and quite rightly....also anyone involved in violence...also rightly.

As for your point about Antifa......Mmmm...they violently closed down Milo at Berkeley and while you might not like Milo he's not a fascist or white supremacist....But I'm well aware that antifa are very willing to dramatically lower and alter the standards for what fits what.

Edited by Stirlingsays (16 Aug 2017 2.28pm)

Trump hasn't though gone tactically "soft focus" has he? He has pandered and encouraged the nastiest elements in US society. Just look at the support messages from David Duke. Then read the responses from within the GOP leadership. He has made huge tactical errors because he has crossed the Rubicon. Even tacit support for Nazis is a no no. I suggest you view this BBC report from someone who was actually there:- [Link]

I am not an apologist for Antifa! I am just pointing out that they would not exist if there was nothing to oppose. Rid the world, through decent education, of Nazi attitudes and Antifa ones disappear with them. I have listened to Milo! He seems pretty extreme in his views to me. Nazi, maybe! Neo-Nazi probably. Idiot. Certainly.

Trump made quite a stink about the fact that the Unite the Right protest had a permit. It did, thanks in part to the ACLU who helped appeal Charlottesville's original decision to force the protest away from Emancipation Park (ironically) - where Lee's statue sits - to another, bigger city park. Oh, and the counter-protesters had permits too.

There was no permit for the Friday evening tiki-torch lit parade, though. They just gathered, lit up and marched through the University campus chanting Nazi slogans like "blood and soil" - a reference to ethnic and geographic purity. Which is a bit like when the Orangemen used to suit up and march right through the most Catholic parts of Belfast and then pretend to be surprised that people got upset.

Milo a 'Nazi, maybe! Neo-Nazi probably'? The man is pro-Israeli and part Jew.. Again, another totally nonsensical comment from you. You just lower the standard for something to crowbar it in....so you can throw labels at people you don't like...it's pathetic.

As for Trump supporting the far right? Show me what comments Trump has made that show support for the far right? If you produce one I'll probably support you and criticise it.

You and the people who support your view are.....well you come across like North Koreans desperate to virtue signal as far as I see....Virtual signal your hatred for 'Nazis' and so fit in with your 'right on' buddies....look at me...I oppose 'hate'. Sure actual Nazis are terrible terrible people....but how many actual Nazis are there? Oh yeah I forgot...with people like you...you act like anyone who opposes your views is a Nazi....So there are millions of them....ridiculous.

The way I see it your views are almost as ridiculous as the far right idiots themselves. You behave like these fools are like some existential threat.

A message from the children of Johnny Cash:
We were alerted to a video of a young man in Charlottesville, a self-proclaimed neo-Nazi, spewing hatred and bile. He was wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the name of Johnny Cash, our father. We were sickened by the association.
Johnny Cash was a man whose heart beat with the rhythm of love and social justice. He received humanitarian awards from, among others, the Jewish National Fund, B’nai Brith, and the United Nations. He championed the rights of Native Americans, protested the war in Vietnam, was a voice for the poor, the struggling and the disenfranchised, and an advocate for the rights of prisoners. Along with our sister Rosanne, he was on the advisory board of an organization solely devoted to preventing gun violence among children. His pacifism and inclusive patriotism were two of his most defining characteristics. He would be horrified at even a casual use of his name or image for an idea or a cause founded in persecution and hatred. The white supremacists and neo-Nazis who marched in Charlottesville are poison in our society, and an insult to every American hero who wore a uniform to fight the Nazis in WWII. Several men in the extended Cash family were among those who served with honor.
Our dad told each of us, over and over throughout our lives, ‘Children, you can choose love or hate. I choose love.’
We do not judge race, color, sexual orientation or creed. We value the capacity for love and the impulse towards kindness. We respect diversity, and cherish our shared humanity. We recognize the suffering of other human beings, and remain committed to our natural instinct for compassion and service.
To any who claim supremacy over other human beings, to any who believe in racial or religious hierarchy: we are not you. Our father, as a person, icon, or symbol, is not you. We ask that the Cash name be kept far away from destructive and hateful ideology.
We Choose Love.

Are you mentally unwell old boy? Who mentioned supporting far right groups and why are you taking umbrage with defending (and the defence of defending) the KKK and the Nazis being a terrible thing?

You can display Nazi like tendencies and still be Jewish! Some Israelis manage it pretty well. Milo is involved with the "Daily Stormer" which is definitely Nazi sympathetic, so yes he is probably a Neo-Nazi. It is rather pathetic to try to deny it!

Trump has given constant comfort to the far right, ever since he started campaigning. Only the blind, the deaf or the ignorant would seek to deny it. It isn't just what he says, it is what he does and what he doesn't do or say. His policies chime with far right objectives. Anti immigration, racial bias, nationalism, anti globalisation, isolationist rhetoric. You want a specific? What about his retweet of a far right activist's tweet about a CNN man being hit by the "Trump Train"? That's just THIS week!

It isn't the Nazis themselves who are dangerous. It is those who find any reason to excuse or defend them. Their apologists are the concern, and there are too many of them in the USA! There are a few in the UK too, generally spouting support for UKIP. Look at the mess they have got the UK into!

As for Milo being a Neo Nazi and some Israelis are Nazis....Well, I think that just reveals all anyone needs to know about your views.

For a 'progressive' to complain about Nazis so much you wouldn't think that the Labour party wasn't the biggest safe space around for anti semitism in the country.....oh wait...the grass roots and some of the upper tiers are full of it...hates nazis...has a lot of anti Semitic sentiment....no cognitive dissonance there at all is there.....As for you and your 'some Jews' are Nazis....well, at least you have a nice line in comedy.

Mr Gristle may support you and the rest of the 'progressive/regressives on here so I'll leave you to foam at the mouth with them. I can only cope with a certain about of crazy for one evening.
