Looks like we are going for the hyphenated players. Cholmondley-Warner upfront ? Looks a good addition, raised in the Ajax youths for some years, so probably knows the gaffer.

I'd have Oxtail Chamberpot any day of the week.

No, I agree. To me, loans at this level of the game seem to be a lose-lose in the long run. If they play well (like Sakho), they go back and won't come back. If they don't play well, then it's a waste of a loan deal.

Good player from what I've seen, and has had game time in the Premierleague. Would prefer having Chambers permanent to be honest, and going for a loanee up front (if we had to).

By the way, would any mods either delete this thread or merge it with the other, please? I didn't realise there was already a thread in Transfer Talk.

But: good players are attracted to clubs which do well, clubs which press for Euro spots instead of sitting in mid table, and clubs which sit in mid table instead of fighting against relegation. If a couple of loans this season help us get up the table we'll have a better chance of attracting quality next summer than if we were perennially on the cusp of the trapdoor.

Had we not had Sakho last season even just for eight games we might have gone down.

We can expect him to sign just in time to beat the deadline then.

Not happy it's a loan, that removes the possibility of Sakho on loan. This guy is okay but I don't think he is at the level we need yet.

YEah but it's saved £20m from buying Chambers... surely that might go towards Sakho.

Only a positive this signing.

Depends whether he is happy with Tomkins to play alongisde Dann at CB. IF not, he will still be in for Chambers as RCB (the deal is rumoured to be agreed)

Which would still leave us needing a back up striker and a gk.

Not keen on yet another loan deal especially a man utd player I hope there's a option to buy in this one otherwisse its pointless and waste of money the only team winning out of this is man utd and that don't sit right with me at all

Then Ward is probably a sub from now on? Great improvement on right-back position - have seen him a couple of games for MU. He impressed...
