I try not to attack people for things they can't help. And it annoys me when others do that. It looks like simple bullying to me. When I see it I call it out, I don't go looking for it.

My point all along is your laissez faire attitude works for those that can defend themselves but how do you block off attacks on those that can't defend themselves early enough to prevent damage.

There are a number of gay men and women that work in the office where I am (in Hove as it happens) both past a present, and not one of them has shown any interest whatsoever in football, either as a participation sport or to view. I've played in numerous teams over the years ranging from junior, to pub, to fair level that involves money being paid (not enough to qualify as semi-professional though) and I am not aware of ANY gay players, or indeed supporters.

Proportionately it seems that football does not have the oft-quoted overall percentage of the population involved in it.

However, the arts, music, film, advertising, cabin crew people that I have met, acquainted, seen, spoken to etc appear to be extremely well represented in the statistical sense, if not more so.

We can go around in circles all day about why this may be, but a bit of perspective should be maintained about the perniciousness of this homophobic environment that exists at Palace.

Very good post. This is about small fish being bullied by bigger fish with even bigger egos. That's what I find offensive about these GT threads. It really is about him and not homophobia. That's what got my goat up. It's 2017 and we've all been living and working and playing with gays for most of our lives and Palace people have no problems with it. GT is a man that craves the limelight - his star has fallen, and this seems a great way to get back in with the celebs. Good on him for that - but we won't be mugged.
