I cannot fathom why you would tell two players they are not good enough then play them immediately after. Makes no sense.

With age comes wisdom and I can't really see Hodgson (if he is appointed) having any problems with the current set up. A good person-manager knows not only how to manage the troops, but also how to deal with colleagues and senior management without making waves.

Every owner wants managers who are competent at doing the job they were employed for and to do it without causing a myriad of problems that require those at the top to intervene. That's the part of the job that Frank failed to understand.

I'd agree Dave, Roy is vey much an 'FA' type man. I'm not enthusiastic about the potential appointment but I do think he'll steady the ship. Get the players organised and playing to our strengthens.

He'll do everything without clashing with Parish or the players.

Can't see many teams wanting to poach him so maybe he'll stay for a few years and bring some stability.

But does he excite me? Not one bit. Does that matter? Not one bit. Solid sound appointment which is what the club needs.

Who actually cares that FDB has been shown the door only one week less than Inter showed him theirs? We should all know why ... he was absolute crap!

He's unlikely to suffer because he'll have been paid up handsomely but more importantly, hopefully we won't have to watch more of the rubbish football served up at our last two home matches.

Cheerio Frank ... keep walking you'll be forgotten by the weekend.

Maybe not behind the scenes, but I thought the press build up and coverage from over a week before FbD was sacked was OTT and added to the pressure of all involved.

Its almost as if the press had made up their minds he was going to be the first manager sacked before a ball was kicked this season and ramped up the pressure to almost make it happen.

West Ham and Bournemouth both had similar records this season and have spent many £m more than us in the summer yet the hysteria only seems to have revolved around Palace.

To be fair, the media was hyping Billic for the sack if they lost last night. So don't think they've only been hyping the Palace situation. Also they were bang on to report on Palace as it was obvious something was up. Still think it took the media by surprise given they all swung our praises for the last performance.

Delaney appears to be a bit of a trouble maker as he has made known in the past that he didn't like certain players including Glen Murray and it wouldn't surprise me if he was the team's shop steward.

Kelly apparently didn't like being told that he wasn't good enough but that's something that most HOLers have been saying for ages and reading between the lines de Boer would have unloaded him in the transfer window but Parish interfered and wouldn't sell him.

Ward allegedly didn't like being told to sit out a training session so that he could watch from the sidelines how a wingback should play. The only word that springs to mind is "diddums"

de Boer was supposed to be a football club manager not a nursemaid to highly paid prima donnas so Parish needs to make sure that the job specification for the new manager includes the fact that the person needs to be an experienced mummy

What a load of rubbish!!

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

The stuff concerning Ward is pretty s*** if true.

Whatever your opinion may be of him now as a player he is honest, always gives 100% and has been an ever present in the success of the last five years.

Deserves more respect from manager and fans for that matter.

Not so sure about Delaney. Think I might be inclined to get rid ASAP as he seems to have become quite a divisive figure.

I hadn't bothered to watch de Boers past match interviews, but I did yesterday. He came across as having the personality of a dead fish, difficult to see how he could motivate and inspire the players. I don't doubt he knows his football, but it was difficult seeing him connecting with players.
Pretty sure it wasn't only the results that got him sacked. Pardew should be given credit for acting swiftly to remove him, maybe he learnt his lesson from keeping Pardew to long.

the man has the personality of a doorstop. would you be excited to play for a character like that? no way. and when the results suffer, of course the players are going to get frustrated with him. he had to go.

Part of me feels very sorry for FDB however I think it is the right descision. At his original press conference there was talk of evolution to a more attacking way. There clearly was something wrong behind the scenes so the rumours do not suprise me. Some will disagree but in my mind both Joel Ward and Martin Kelly are both solid EPL players. They have weaknesses but are good squad players at worst. Both will give 100% every game. Ward is not a wingback and had clearly never played there before Huddersfield.

Luka was one of the successes of last season and was not the same player under FDB

Delaney was always going to be a bit player this season but was still the "captain" in the dressing room.

Virtually No players came in, we can speculate why. One of them has to be FDB changed his mind about targets. In retrospect the fact Tete chose to go elsewhere and Jairo Riedewald took ages may say something.

Andros Townsend was poor until allardyce and Lee sorted him out. FDB appears to have Pardewed him.

Clearly the board must take some responsibility as they knew that these changes were going to cause tensions. This is why they wanted evolution not revolution and I think FDB broke that understanding and he had to go

so should you!

What is Damo supposed to have done then?

What has come out today in the papers is what I had been told last night by someone who is almost always spot on. Not always, but usually.

He was a dead man walking before the season started almost. He had a 5 year plan to play 3-4-3 once he has settled in, not straight away.

We lost 3 games to the U23's with a full strength team playing 3-4-3. That to me, is the most shocking.

Parish knew he'd made a mistake after about 2 weeks. de Boer changed his mind on targets for transfers which is why we ended up missing out on a striker. He forgot! What is said about him telling Ward he was for sale the day before the season is true. He then put him into the starting eleven for our first game of the season at RWB and he got murdered.

The bloke has had a total nightmare from start to finish. He HAD to go. I am pleased Parish stepped up and acted quickly. He hired a man who talked the talk but almost certainly, could not walk the walk. Parish is not to blame. So many idiots kicking off about this, he could have gone quite some time ago.

The article posted in The Sun today is near on 100% the information I had last night. Give it a read if you haven't yet.

In fairness, we played well yesterday which is why I understand some fans disapproval of the timing. It felt like we were getting somewhere. The vibe is he wouldn't have kept his job if we had pulled off a result.

It bloody annoying people saying he's only got 4 games. It was nothing to do with the matches, he was finished before the season. The U23 games and the friendlies in Asia told us everything. I respect SP for making the decision now despite knowing he would get slaughtered by people who didn't know truth.

Looks as tough FDB got the bullet at Inter for the exact same reasons as Palace.
