This is all about effectively regulating capitalism so that it works more than it exploits.

The rise of the gig economy to the present level perhaps shows that we need better regulators.

And you see what you trained for all those years of struggling to get your badge.... disappear.

All because you want to save a couple of quid.

I get what you're saying but, at the same time, having a dash-mountable GPS unit in everyone's pocket put "the knowledge" on deathwatch. Uber is a nightmare of a company, but that's not the reason why black cab drivers are under pressure.

I have not forgotten how many times (basically, every time) I tried to get a black cab to take me "south of the river" only to be told to f*** off. I also haven't forgotten the more recent experiences of having to pay 30 quid to go a couple of miles.

The unions have failed in getting better pay and conditions for their members for years. They are more concerned about flogging them credit cards and financial 'services', and making sure that people who can't decide whether they are a man or a woman get appropriate toilet facilities.

Too divide and rule with a gig job.....But in this day and age government should have this regulated properly by now.

2p or not 2p?

Carcassone? I think I cooked one last week.

Surely that would have been Verona

If I refused to use every company that gave a sh*t service there would be no companies left for me to use.

Are you going in your crocodile shoes and eating battery farm egg sandwiches when you get there?

Your perfect right of course....and I'm being sanctimonious.....But if none of us gave a damn about companies then no better practices and companies would ever survive.

Shout at me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the taxpayer subsidise all airlines, in that there's no duty on aviation fuel? There may not be VAT either (I honestly don't know). Although there is of course a tax on the 'customer' when buying a ticket.

A sat nav will only go said far,how many drivers get lost using the.
Can it tell you where the German welfare council is,or the penal reform society...get into most black cabs and just give the name and he's gone.
No putting the passenger's in danger constantly looking at the "gps" to make sure he's not getting lost.
