A great victory against ISIS

But what does this mean about the future of ISIs and the global terror threat?

Not much. Sympathisers are now all over Europe thanks to immigration policy.

Who could have guessed?

it all reminds me of the scene in Orwell's 1984 where Winston Smith shows great joy at one of the contrived military victories against an invented enemy. And all the wars are constant and never ending.

korea, vietnam, iraq, afghanistan, isis.....there will certainly be another enemy coming along within the next 5 minutes. And so regarding Raqqa, i will be happy about it for 4 minutes.

Is, sadly for all of us, the right answer.

Here's hoping they are given to the Iraqi army to be dealt with. None, If UK citizens should be allowed back into the country.

I remember saying on here two years ago that IS would be kicked out and being told I was wrong. These dying days for it as a governing power are cause of celebration for all those who have suffered under them.....those who died fighting them paid the ultimate price.

I thought they were taking the IS fighters out by the bus load completely unmolested? Surely, that just moved the problem elsewhere?

I'd be surprised if they were released. I'd imagine many are due to stand trial, and that assorted criminal charges are due under international law.

Sympathisers were all over Europe before ISIS was a phrase people were banding around.

UK Citizens who fought for IS should only be allowed back into the UK for interrogation where they have information that could benefit UK security.

The rest, should be held as criminals supporting a brutal regime of murder and tyranny, and held accountable under either Syrian, Iraqi or international law (which ever applies).

I suspect many will just disappear.

It won't change much, IS has affiliates in most countries, the way that Al-Qaeda does. Over time they'll either become known as affiliates of the next 'big threat', or by their own group names.

They tend towards a leaderless cell structure outside of Syria.

And we're again very happy to overlook the fact that it was us that caused this mess in the first place?
