If we had gone away from home and adopted such a tactic and got a good draw there would be NO complaints on here whatsoever.Breaking up play and not allowing the other side to gain momentum is actually not a bad tactic when one is in dire need of points.

I believe your question surrounding Sakho is rhetorical and is certainly hypothetical.

Regards the maths of fouls to card count, not every foul is worthy of a card.

You can break up play and prevent the other side from gaining momentum without getting booked or bribing the ref. This is what Milivojevic does.

You didn't answer the question about Sakho because the answer is inconvenient for your argument.

As for your last point I refer you to the Laws which state:

CAUTIONABLE OFFENCES

A player is cautioned if guilty of:

delaying the restart of play
dissent by word or action
entering, re-entering or deliberately leaving the field of play without the referee’s permission
failing to respect the required distance when play is restarted with a corner kick, free kick or throw-in
persistent offences (no specific number or pattern of offences constitutes “persistent”)
unsporting behaviour

HTH.

I certainly do NOT "Buy" the argument that the referee is a cheat etc etc.

Referees make split-second decisions and of course on reflection, and having viewed 'Slow-Mos'
they might consider their judgement was awry.

At the end of the day they don't purposely make decisions they believe that are totally wrong but of course they do err the same as players and managers.

Roy said in the after-match interview that it was a dive. He also stated he had not seen a replay but still he was convinced it was a dive. Now Roy's view is from the half-way line yet he was still 100% sure of the actions of Niasse and stated so publicly. Roy is 70 years old and I'd guess he probably isn't as physically fit as Taylor yet he still called the correct 'split-second decision'! No excuses for the Ref's decision at all! Ollie's Dad,Ash.

Regards Sakho, you are making a statement hence the question was rhetorical and as such did not require any answer.
That said, I don't 'Buy' the assertion that somehow Sakho would be treated more harshly than someone else. All about how the referee sees an incident.

As for the 'Laws' of the game. I am fully Au Fait with them, thank you very much.

The ref wasn't bent, even if it felt that way. He was just incompetent and biased. He made a catastrophic mistake in the fifth minute and continued from there. However, once again we had an oppo player who fouled continually but just enough to avoid being sent off. Some of the fouls on Wilf were shocking but as usual the ref didn't stamp down on the persistent fouling.

I know we handed the match back to Everton just before half time but this ref's display left a bitter after-taste to compound the feeling that yet another match we should have won had slipped away. I felt our luck was turning at last when we scored in the first minute but then it turned against us once more. Maybe we will get the breaks soon but it will soon be too late to save us.

I saw the incident from the Upper Holmesdale and was astonished when the ref gave a pen - the dive was so blatant. So Roy is entitled to the same opinion, all confirmed by the replays. This was not a split-second decision which is how Willo attempts to justify it. The ref was perfectly placed and under no time pressure to make the call as the ball had run out of play. And would Wilf have got that pen? Not a chance - a yellow for diving instead, as per the late great Mark Cl*ntenf*nk, may he rot in corrupt Saudi for ever.

It WAS a split-second decision and one which of course has not been met with universal approval.Often referees get it right, sometimes on reflection they must wish they had seen the incident from various angles in "Slow-Mo".

You can see there's contact and he's given it, many wouldn't but some do.

Our tough luck really. As Roy said, it was a penalty as it was given and they scored.

Hopefully we'll start getting some soft decisions in our favour.

Its about time the video ref was introduced.
It would take no longer than the debacle in the time it took to take the pen yesterday.

Everton, also delayed the start. There was persistent fouling. all in all the Ref was a joke. Inept comes to mind.
