Agreed, that is a real problem with the rule, it may deter players from diving but at the end of the day it does not stop teams or players benefiting from cheating

I mentioned it above - many, many pages ago - so I'll repeat it here: the deduction should be any points gained by the deception, plus 1. That way, teams will lose their ill-gotten gains and suffer an additional penalty, while this system still punishes teams even if they end up losing anyway as they'll still lose the extra point.

It sucks that, if in force already, we would still have got only 1 point instead of 3, but it's a much more gnarly issue to be adding "unearned" points to a team's total than it is to punish the offending team with a points deduction.

So, in the case of the Everton game, we still would be on 8 points right now, but Everton would be on 9 points instead of 12.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

phil neville is an idiot. those of you snowflakes that havent melted yet should forget about listing experts and pundits who are agreeable with you. the last major contentious incident in the league was Manes` challenge on the Man City goalie, those same experts agreed Mane was harshly treated as he `had the right to go for that ball` - really? Mane was 6 foot off the floor with studs up! 6 inches off the floor studs up is a sending off! so please leave out bleating `well they said blah blah`. Dann played the man not the ball, fact.

its a tough gig going on an opponents site, `we hate/disrespect you` ad-infinitum but for the record if you can be bothered. i hate cheats, most evertonians do. Tim Cahill got a Newcastle player sent off with theatrics about 12 years ago. after that i couldnt care less about him.also, some of you seem to think fouling didnt exist til we turned up last week, moaning about Zaha (great player, wish he was ours) being fouled. good job you havent got Hazard, you`d all probably choke on your own rage

So, Einstein, would you kindly explain how someone pushed from behind on the upper body manages to fall backwards?

Simple question. But one Niasse himself failed to answer. He cheated, and that's official. Get over it.

Totally understand why the ref gave it, but can also totally understand why he's since been banned.

What I don't understand is why you're here and what your point is.

£140m spent in the summer and your choking on your rage over your third choice striker being banned.

Enjoy life under Big Sam, apparently he's digging his heals in for a heft pay day and two year contract. How Everton are hitting the big time...

I'm sure he'll also make Everton stump up the 2 million that will be owed to Palace if he signs; which is nice.

At what point was Mane trying to deceive the referee? Oh, that's right, he wasn't. So it's nothing at all like Niasse's successful effort at deceiving the ref for which he has now been banned.

Zaha was fouled more often than Hazard last season. [Link]

It wasn't even close: Zaha - 108 times vs. Hazard 89 times. And you can bet that Chelsea's star got a helluva lot more protection from the ref than ours did.

talk about missing the point! the tv pundits were all in favour of Mane going in 6foot high with his studs up so to me those `experts` don't have any credibility

Those aren't the people who sat in judgement of Niasse. You're still pissing on the wrong door.

I came originally to see the CPFC fans reaction to the topic and decided to register and comment because no one seemed objective as regards Dann making no effort to play the ball, which is a foul - or am I wrong on that too?
