I am In two minds on this,It is worth almost ANY money to get rid of the extra layer of bureaucracy that is the E.U.but it smacks of leaving your golf club and having to pay green fees until you die and continuing to pay for rounds of drinks In the nineteenth hole that you will not be there to consume. Not one politician has justified any payment legally, odd that.

The UK is committed to assorted obligations and commitments within the EU that it agreed to, when it joined. Its a bit like renting a property for business - your tied into paying rent even if you close the business up, until such time as the contract expires.

Not fulfilling contractual commitments, obligations etc is a dangerous stand to make for a government, as it makes them only trust worthy for as long as that party is in power. Its like welshing on a bet really.

If we want a future free of this nonsense we should simply terminate brexit.

At least this is honest.

The feeble Machiavellian attempts by Remainers to subvert democracy has possibly been the most sickening spectacle ever seen in politics.

An aspect of the 'debate' on Brexit that amuses me, is that many of those who are most vociferous in their doom-laden predictions for an independent UK, are also vociferous in their criticism of business, banks and the capitalist system in general. Yet most of their arguments are that Brexit will damage these very same institutions of capitalism that they detest so much - you would think they would be cheering. Similarly, they will have much more chance of having a government that represents their views elected in an independent UK than they would in the monolithic EU.

If I were the EU I would be looking to recover all the damages caused by the UK leaving now and in the future.

Just like your ex would do.

No more referendums here or Scotland people have had enough.

Come on PM lead the country and end it.

Years of pain with no gain just decline at home and abroad.

What's the point?

We have already covered all this ground already and the people voted leave. They had weeks to decide and were exposed to all the lies and spin you'd expect in a referendum from both sides.

The fact is that many people know that the EU will become a huge superstate run by the Germans where globalisation will only mean lower wages and masses of immigrants and most people don't want that. That trumps all other considerations.

S'alright don't panic. The Brexit experts on Hol have already quite clearly stated that we don't need to pay a penny AND we will end up with wonderful trade deals as soon as we leave and that everyone will own a mansion.

Legally we dont; morally is another thing though...clearly.

For my perspective £40bn - £60bn will be worth it...and it gets paid OVER 10 YEARS not straight off, so at that rate the amount we'd retain/gain through a trade agreement would make the figure above look like peanuts.

'For my perspective' L does this mean that you will be paying for it?

Joking apart I think brexiteers should pay for brexit by direct deduction through the PAYE system.

Blimey that room emptied quickly!!!!!!

So we pay them 40 billion to leave, then we just demand our deposits with the European back on departure........ some 32-35 billion I believe!

I'm afraid in politics when spectacularly defeated, you can 'lose your deposit'.

Why are you so worried about businesses and their trade, and the banks? They are all evil capitalists aren't they? You should be celebrating shouldn't you if you think they will be impoverished? Surely it will further weaken the failing capitalist system and you will be able to kick in the rotting door and usher in the socialist utopia?

Ha ha,I do not mean this in a nasty way at all,but Kermit is a property developer living in devon....hello.
