This interview with a former BBC man talks about the BBC's agenda. [Link]

I posted a BBC article last week about Christians being the most persecuted religion in the world. Not once in the story did it mention the religion that is persecuting them... [Link]

Isn't Christians being persecuted a sign of what goes around comes around? Christians persecuted Pagans and many other religions, murdered many hundreds of thousands, if not millions, partly due to their beliefs. Bit rich to be complaining now.

Historical guilt? Sins of the fathers stuff?

I guess this is saying that stopping that original persecution was a bad thing because it just means that your children get it.

Very Sparta with the herlots.

More to do with the fact that the persecution didn't stop for an awfully long time. Perhaps it is a little bit hypocritical of Christians to state they are being persecuted now.

I'm a Pagan so am biased.

You kind of just repeated the same statement when I'd pointed out that you're making a 'sins of the fathers' argument. I'm an atheist but I try to see it objectivity....as much as possible that is because true objectivity is, of course, impossible.

I'm fine with you justifying persecution because it's you being honest. For me, it shows how the Christians were fools to allow themselves to become minorities to other religions.

The one thing I learnt from the Marxists is that there is only power, those who have it and those that don't.

Morality and opinion are mirages used to control those who can be controlled.

In the west we now essentially live under the rule of 'useful idiots'.

So being slaughtered is ok then if your religious ancestors are judged to have done the same hundreds of years ago?

I see it as taming the savage and bringing civilisation to the world (you're welcome) but that's another debate.

Where does this ill will manifested as "you brought this on yourself" fit in to your three-fold bollox anyway? You'll get the negative sentiment back triple if you don't watch out...

Anyway, as a conscientious pagan I'm off to bake a hedgehog in clay and finger an otter before the Sun's fifth moon comes up. Tatty bye.

No it wasn’t on the theme of a media cover up. It was on the theme of a BBC cover up. LBC carried the story while the BBC buried it under local news. Why would they do that?

Perhaps because they believe that Robinson isn't as important as he and you think he is. He is but one candidate of many standing in the upcoming elections. To give him more coverage than others would not be equitable. It wasn't national news as he isn't a nationally important political figure.

He wasn’t the point of the story and if you think he was then I feel sorry for you. The point was that hundreds of young people have suffered years of abuse and have to live with the experience for the rest of their lives but the BBC didn’t consider this a story worth reporting while a case in the C of E was worth putting on their front page.

I have read some pretty cynical and despicable comments from you in the past but that I think takes the prize to date.

I too am an atheist but I am also a humanist and am well aware that both good and evil exist. Holding strong moral values is an essential pathway to goodness, whilst having none provides the excuses for evil.

The idea that the ends justify the means, which is essentially what you (and Trump) are saying is something that I, and I hope every decent human being, totally reject.

Humans have evolved a conscience which sets us apart from other animals and enabled us to rise to dominance. You seem to want us to behave as animals again.

The story I was referring to was about a milkshake being thrown over Robinson. So what? It's parish pump news.

The C of E story was new. So it was news. The child abuse scandal has been covered and continues to get covered whenever there is something new to report.

That's what is meant by news.

Right. And forty people being arrested as opposed to one for the same crime isn’t news? The post you answered was nothing to do with a milk shake so please try to keep up.

Ok, so I apologise. I dipped in and got the wrong end of the stick.

A news story implicating a previous Archbishop of Canterbury in a cover up is a pretty big deal which certainly demands national coverage.

Further arrests in a well covered and ongoing story is perhaps not so demanding of blanket national coverage. It depends on your point of view. The BBC news editors had their's and you yours. I was aware of it and think I got it from Radio 4 news.
