Why not? It's Halal so won't cause offence and would be a sign of friendship. Offering your hand to those who might accept it, whilst being resolute with those who seek to harm you, makes sense to me.

Whilst there has been a lot of debate about this over the ages there is now a general acceptance that humans have the capacity to be good, even though they are not all good. They possess the senses of compassion, shame, distain, respect, courtesy, right and wrong.Humans have a constitution comprising emotional predispositions that direct them to goodness. We are all humans. Religious belief is secondary.
