As for the thirties, well back in the thirties the country everyone was trying to placate was Germany as it grew increasingly stronger. And today the country that overwhelmingly benefits from the EU arrangements is that same country......and you as an EU remain supporter are a supporter of that arrangement. So you are much more connected to a time similar to the thirties than I am.

Daily Mail? The news outlet that probably best reflects my views is Sargon of Akkad.

Merry Christmas, Stirling. Family time calls. Jousting to resume laters.

Agree and Lexit appears to be defined as the reasons for leaving the EU, rather than providing a left wing exit strategy.

One interesting point I discovered is that ‘Lexiters’ promote the idea that freedom of movement does reduce wages in the UK.

Strange because a while before the referendum you were talking about no2eu the group headed by Bob Crowe and TUSC. That was the beginnings of a Lexit campaign.

Lexit, as defined in the Internet was the reasons a minority of left wingers used as a basis of campaign to leave the EU. That is where TUSC came from.

It is not a blueprint or a plan for what happens when Brexit happens.

That is the point. Claiming that there is a ‘Lexit’ strategy is false. There isn’t one in existence, we have already established that a ‘Corbyn Brexit’ is just a phrase and not a strategy.

This is the crux of what I am getting at. The left, whilst parts of it were campaigning for a Brexit, has no plan for dealing with it or it’s aftermath. It’s just spin and slogans.

Truth is, I don't think anyone has a cohesive plan.
What I do know is there is a big chance that a Corbyn Labour will be taking us through the whole shenanigans.

That would be very bad news for Britain. They aren't very clever.

Sir Nigel has a plan but it is not listened too.

Sad state of affairs.

I didn't know you read Conan Doyle.

Remember when Farage hotfooted it over to Alabama to endorse a right-wing bigot who stands accused of molesting teenage girls?

Remind us how well that escapade went for Farage.

Or how about the time Farage said that if/when Brexit turns out to be an economic disaster he'll be absolutely fine because he'll just up sticks and move abroad?

What on earth gives you such confidence that the man has the judgement, ability, or integrity to lead the Brexit negotiations?

Yep, the Brexiters like Mogg are most definitely less accommodating towards the EU than May is......May uses them, especially Johnson as a threat to get what she does.....which trashes the crap that the 'EU hold all the cards' mob were constantly pushing.

People like May or....if he were negotiating Brexit, Stamer or Corbyn.....they are appeasers....and without the Brexiters they have absolutely no cards to barter with.

Without Brexiters the emperor has no clothes and.....anyone serious knows that Labour leading this thing would end up with the weakest deal possible.

...to a percentage of remainers.....who are actually more pro EU than they are pro Britain.....that's actually a good thing...because they can claim that we have no chance outside the EU and should rejoin...that's ultimately what those internationalists want. But plenty of remainers do actually put Britain first...so that would be a massive split in their ranks.
