I'd like to see us offering to extend Benteke's contract. If he doesn't take the terms offered, we should go all out to flog him. Regardless of what people think of him (I think he's a good player who'll prove it emphatically) the reality is that our huge investment will start to depreciate rapidly if we don't tie him in.

Bentekes in the discussion for worst performers of the season, yet is our record signing and highest earner, also has the worst work ethic out of all our lads. Benteke - transfer fee - £32million, wages - £120k a week Glenn Murray - transfer fee -£3million, wages - £40k a week Andre Ayew - transfer fee - £20million, wages £120k a week Jermaine Defoe - free, wages - £130k a week Wayne Rooney - £150k a week, Oumar Niasse - £13.5million - £55k a week Charlie Austin - transfer fee - £4million - wages - £55k a week Manolo Gabbiadini - £15million fee - can't find wages Tammy Abraham - Loan - £50k a week Jordan Ayew - can't find fee paid, wages - £25k a week Jay Rodriguez - transfer fee- £12mill - can't find wages Salomon Rondon - fee £12mill - wages - £55k a week All I was saying was if your not scoring goals then you need to be putting a shift in, we can't afford to carry a player like Roy said earlier this month.

I think he has contributed well to the recent good run. Football is a team game. Against WBA, Andy Carroll broke a run of 14 (was it?) games without scoring.
