Maybe Cech should read Lehmans book he wasn't exactly in command of anything last night.

Can't really think of any - not keeping out the header at Newcastle cost is a point. What about the Everton debacle? Also, don't understand the comment about commanding his area as he stays on his line an awful lot.

The low down save at Leicester was world class.

I don't think that Cech is the goalkeeper he was.

I'm still in the Hennessey camp but I don't really see where the criticism of Speroni is coming from. Sometimes I think we expect too much from our keepers and Speroni has made several very good saves in the last few matches.

The shot from Sanchez which went in at his near post was hit very firmly through a crowd and I think he did well to get his fingers to it.

Perhaps he could have done better for the first but the third was one of those times that, had he saved it, I'd be saying it was an excellent stop.

I think most Palace fans want a younger top flight keeper but they aren't cheap and I imagine it is a case of prioritising for Roy and the club.

He made a good initial save on the first goal but the guy who then scored was on his own at the back. Poor marking and not Speroni's fault.

Perhaps but I think he may have done better with the initial save but that doesn't take away from what I said, apart from some dodgy distribution and that mistake with the pass to Dann, I think he has done well and made some very good saves.

From Matt Barlow's report in the Mail: 'The Palace goalkeeper made plenty of saves but failed to exude authority'.

Why not direct your criticism at that useless lump of c--p masquerading as our centre forward instead of someone who gives 100% and to be honest didn't get a great deal of help from his defence tonight.

Spot on. Need the defence to be strengthened in line with the goalkeeper. Would be surprised if we didn't bring in another goalie in Jan, as that was clearly needed, like 2 strikers in the summer. Either that or we strengthen the defence with a major signing and make do. I suspect we will go for the former.

I thought he did okay last night. The criticism for the first goal was a little harsh in my opinion. It was a good save, he pushed it wide, where was he supposed to parry it? I think kelly was a bit slow to react if anything, but that would be harsh.
He is a great ambassador for the club and I hope we find a place for him when he decides to call it a day.

And he had Sanchez right in front of him as well who clearly made a move toward the ball and that would have been in Jules's eyeline.

Don't forget that we were missing a first choice centre back (Sakho), the first choice right back (Ward) and - to a lesser extent due to longevity - the first choice left back (Souare). They will all be back (hopefully soon), and we can judge the defense at that time and when we're not playing an on-fire Arsenal.

The big issues for me last night were the porous midfield and the invisibility of the target frontman. All night, Arsenal just walked up to our 18-yard line without impediment, which would be trouble for any defense, let alone one of which 75% are replacements.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

He has served us well but like Hennessey is not a premiership keeper. In fact I prefer Hennessey, Jules was slow to both Sanchez shots and is not dominating enough in the air. I say play Wayne until we buy someone better.

True, but then he isn't supposed to be the first choice keeper. He was the third choice - McCarthy, Mandala and Hennessey have all been ahead of him.

Which is to say, Speroni is the man we were supposed to use, when two keepers were out injured. So basically we're playing Speroni, because the last three keepers we bought were s**t.

I think he makes sense as a third choice keeper.
