Think they’d be fine in Istanbul. Meant to be an amazing place to live as well.

Very odd signing.

We needed a ready made striker not one for the future.

Looks like he is still learning.

Apologies as this is veering off-topic but for those of you wwho would not prefer to stick their head in the sand, here is an extract from the Economist

"WHAT does a president have to do to destroy the trust of Turks? Debauching the currency, poisoning relations with Europe and America, locking up tens of thousands of innocent people, muzzling the press, reigniting a civil war and fiddling with the constitution to gain the powers of a sultan surely ought to be enough. Recep Tayyip Erdogan has done all that and more in recent years"

Of course, he did just get re-elected

Disagree. He's looked like he's got something about him both in the short time he's played for us...and for Norway.

He could very well turn out to be a top player.

The foreigners who live there and supposedly "absolutely love the place" are there working for foreign companies, on Western wages and expenses in a little ex-pat bubble. If they were living on average Turkish wages, in average Turkish housing and being treated like the average Turk they'd be back here faster than wind out of a Bosphoros duck's arse. Don't put too much weight on what a bloke who couldn't hack it as an Australian immigrant thinks.

Yes, I agree to trusting Roy.
However, if Sorloth does go, then it would be another example of botched and wasted transfer business.
Any player we buy should be better than first team quality, and bought to take a place in the first team.
Just taking pot luck on a player, usually in the last minute of a transfer window, is a waste of time, bad business and failed business.

That sounds great in practice but the reality might be that those who are first team quality never grows. We’ll always have about 16 or whatever to select from. You need to have a few punts and long term projects signed. Thing is he was a bit pricey, unless of course he is successful.

Not really an option when you're a footballer. There's these things called away games.

Optimistic as ever

Gomis has been smashing them in for Galatasaray since he went there. Probably a nothing story.

Hardly the flop that people claim. Four games with three of them playing out wide. Play him instead of Benteke on the Scandinavian tour and he'll have the confidence he needs for the new season.

Let's keep the ball this season!

Fully agree with this, looks to have bags of potential
