I cant see why people believe Southampton will be safe, They are on one of the worst form runs in the division, Got hammered 3-0 by West Ham last week and basically played a second string Arsenal side today and still lost, they are in serious trouble.

If we manage to beat Brighton next week then there is no reason they wont go down, with the fixtures they have they may not pick up another point.

Spurs
Burnley
Liverpool
Man U
Man City

Huddersfield's season may depend on their next 2 games, Home to Watford and Everton before finishing with City Chelsea and Arsenal.

Huddersfield are in serious bother because they can't score goals. They only scored and scraped a point against the weed because Duffy gifted them one. Apart from that they haven't scored for ages and haven't looked like scoring. I can't imagine for a minute they'll get any change out of Everton. Watford you never know because they can implode at a moment's notice (as we have seen).

Of course Huddersfield isn't that far from Oldham.

Just looked at it again, it is between the bottom 6! West Ham and unfortunately, Brighton are safe I believe. My gut feeling says Southampton will survive and stoke could easily put a run together. (At least one of them WILL get out of it)The importance of the stoke v palace game maybe absolutely huge. Biggest game in 5 years!
If them are two survive (my gut says they will) we have to get above Swansea and Huddersfield. As stated earlier, we deserve to go down if can’t finish above Huddersfield but Swansea will be dodgy.

I’m actually worried now for the first time since our first 7 losses! Is it me or does is seem destined to happen? Us get relegated? Chris Kamara stated that he can’t believe we are still in trouble with the way we have been playing.
We keep throwing leads away.
Injuries are non stop.

Unfortunately I think relegation is written in the stars for us

PS I’m never normally pessimistic so someone please snap me out of this.

You could easily see Brighton not picking up another point all season, they are home to tough fixtures and away to the easier ones.

No disrespect to those saying draws are not enough but i think if we drew all the remaining we'd stay up.

I very much doubt 36 points will be enough but who knows?

If we get 3 points against Stoke then 36 points would most likely be sufficient, or, having just read the whole thread, even a point against Stoke would leave Stoke needing 3 wins from their remaining 4 games to get above us.

In this particular season, I’d say you’re right. There are at least two wins in our run-in, which I think will suffice. However, after 5 seasons in the top flight, I’m disappointed that we repeatedly get to April looking anxiously over our shoulders. After all this time, there should be some solidity in our structure to prevent this from happening every f*cking year.

Every season someone who was considered a "solid" Premiership side ends up in some sort of bother at the bottom of the table. Last season nobody would have thought either Stoke or Southampton would be sitting on the trapdoor at this stage, but they then started selling and not replacing players like Arnautovic and van Dyck. Asking for trouble.

Having been in the Premier League for many years is no guarantee that you're not for the drop.

But solid prudent and careful building from season to season is the best protection against it.

My very point. Something we’ve just not seen. We’ve chanced our luck pretty much every season. Apart from Pardew, we’ve never started a season with the same manager as we had at the end of the previous. It’s like playing darts blindfolded. Does Parish fall out with everyone?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gameweek 34' by Midlands Eagle

Despite the draw we were great and the weekend more or less went well for us.

Again next weekend is massive
Sat lunchtime Southampton v Chelsea
Palace v Brighton
Huddersfield v Watford
Swansea v Everton
Monday night West Ham v Stoke

Interestingly there are midweek games after
Tue 17th Brighton v Spurs
Thurs 19th Leicester v Southampton

This is because the FA Cup semi finals are at the weekend we play Watford.
Southampton play Chelsea on the Sunday.

I'm hoping that Southampton stay up and Huddersfield go down but they'll do well to get anything in the 2 EPL games with the semi final so close.
I really want Watford to beat Hudderfield next weekend because then Huddersfield have a nightmare run-in.

I think 36 37 points will be enough as alot of the teams down there have two or three games against the top six.

We are vulnerable in defence. We cannot manage games to secure the points until the final whistle. We have no strength in depth, hence Hodgson perseveres with minimal substitutions. We have our main striker who has scored TWO goals all season, is bereft of confidence to the extent he cannot hit a barn door from 2 yards.I have accepted that we will be relegated and rest assured I am NOT a good person to live with.Bloody depressing.

Oh for a season when in April we are not having to count up how many points we need for safety.

At the moment I am almost telling myself we are gonna go down so that I get used to the idea now so that if it does happen it won't be such a shock.
