According to Ian Holloway Parish doesn't honour agreements unless they are confirmed in writing sour grapes maybe? Not that I wanna defend parish.

Maybe as soon as Wilf was giving interviews not-so- subtly begging bigger clubs to come in for him then perhaps the bond was broken. Hell of a big jump in wages he secured mate, I'm not SP's biggest fan but that would have hardened my heart to any promise that might have been made so I'd forgive him for enforcing the contract.

I've obviously been raised differently to you as I have always accepted that my word is my bond I'd say that's a given pal, fortunately. This is the world of 100million pound deals, ridiculous salaries and global brand management, not haggling the price of a cob with a tinker. I appreciate that the PL is still a shady and unprofessional place, but I'd be surprised if there's still blokes in sheepskins spitting on their palms in carparks to secure deals. Wilf secured over 2.5 million pounds a year salary increase and signed an extension. If anyone needs a lesson in honour and duty it's not SP in this instance.

You and many others are assuming there was a gentleman agreement to let Zaha go, which I very much doubt. The normal agreement is the player is allowed to speak to other clubs, if a release clause is reached by the other clubs, that is stipulated in the contract. Why would you have a gentleman agreement when millions of pounds are involved for the club, player and agent?

True, if a trust is deliberately broken the bond is void. Once we heard that Parish and co hadn't secured the removal or reduction of the Zaha 25 profit percent to Man U.... that was a pretty big hint that we were looking to keep him.....as least for this season. Personally if Parish gave his word it's for him to honour it same as for Zaha.....but as said, we don't know what's gone on and we're just shooting the breeze.
