1 winter compared to how many winters now of 'benefit only the rich' austerity?

The previous labour administrations of Blair and latterly Brown had no 'winters of discontent' or anything like it, there was economic prosperity and fairness, hardly a day went by without help for disadvantaged people.

Before the crash, a balanced budget, that would seem incredible now, the whole world runs on tick.

It could be tick tock who knows what the outcome will be.

They may well decide in favour of a return to good quality public services, police numbers to safeguard us, crumbling institutions restored and fair government without racial bullying, we even had a debt-free economy for a while, imagine that.

The day TB Twas replaced the worst day ever for the UK.

You must have been drunk through the 70's pal and
you actually have a semblance of respect for that lying weazel faced war criminal? Give me a break.

A decade which began with the end of Bretton Woods coupled with a global energy crisis that led to sky-high inflation?
Once again you let yourself down regarding this particular era.

Its a race to the bottom under these cons, interesting times ahead, not sure anyone is going to be working in a few years, the cons will have fled to america, and the rest of us will be scared to venture out after 4pm !

Hmmm. I think that endless strikes, overmanning, poor production, absurd pay rises for big union members and Britain the sick man of Europe under Labour was more significant.

Nonsense you are going too far back.

The Blair era from 1996 had none of those problems.

That's because you continually refuse to deny the truth bud.
The end of Bretton Woods has had the biggest impact on US all, continuing to this day, that no particular party has EVER addressed!

Do some homework. Or continue to be dumb. Your choice.

Try not to be rude. It doesn't make you look smarter.

I'm not arguing the Bretton Woods point. I'm suggesting that Wilson and Callaghan were in the pockets of the unions to the detrement of Britain as Corbyn would be again.
