Forest's take on the Royal Wedding

So Megan’s dad was smeared by the press, and unable to attend. Victim of a fictitious heart operation. A bit like Harry’s dad, the also absent James Hewitt.
The crumbling NHS had been very busy in the past few days, collecting homeless people suffering from mental illness from the camp sites around Windsor. Many international ill visitors were treated, but also interviewed by media correspondents for many hours before the big event.
And when the bride arrived (remember, she already married, in God’s eyes), the dress was the most talked about since the Monica Lewinsky item, which was smeared with some Presidential fluid.
And Uncle Ben stole the show. What a pity Prince Phillip had retired from making blunt public comment. Of course, black slavery was mentioned, and there was some Gospel stuff sung. You have to pander to a wide audience these days, not just your white underclass.
Megan took her marriage vows,…again. And Harry muttered something along the lines of taking her for richer,…or richer. And how the congregation chortled as he muttered the words, “I Will”, in the totally rehearsed and scripted spontaneous humour.
And Pippa’s fat @r5se was nowhere to be seen, coz Harry’s been there,…done that.

Then off to the state-funded celebrations, costing all of us a fortune.
Never mind,.Megan does a bit for charidee, you know.

What a sad outlook you have on life.

It was astonishing that we in 21st century Britain are pandering to ridiculous, religious codswallop.

Totally bonkers. State sanctioned bonkers.

That said purely in financial terms they rake in over 360 Million for government coffers for which they take 40 Million for themselves. They are also 3X Cheaper than the French presidency & 5X cheaper than the German Chancellor.

Sounds like you still haven't got over your hate, Hrolf. If I can tolerate people of all faiths or none, surely you can too.

There is plenty of religious codswallop about but the Anglican marriage ceremony hardly comes into that category. It's just a church service.

I didn't watch the wedding. Simply because I don't like weddings very much.

But, to all you anti-monarchists spouting on about how much it costs the state, it costs less than 70p per person to finance them. Per year. And the funding they bring in to this country is phenomenal. Far more than from the unwashed down-and-out selling the big issue that people flock to support at £1 per go.

£1? When did you last buy a big issue?

Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Link]

I didn't watch the wedding simply because it was such a lovely day that I didn't want to sit inside watching TV

I don't tolerate 'faith' at all well and I'm proud to say so. It has no place in any ceremony.
It's long past time that people got their heads out of their arses and faced up to reality.

Not sure what that has to do with nutty religion.

Get a life? You seem to be the only one on this particular thread who seems to be getting bent out of shape about that wedding. Everyone else has moved on from it.

This is a discussion thread. You don't seem to like me expressing an opinion about pandering to loopy religious nonsense.
I bet my life is better than yours. And it requires no religion.
