So you think free speech is impeded as it's socially unacceptable to make racist/sexist/homophobic comments?

Yes.

This has been the case for most British legal history.

The Dankula case is going to see a challenge to the ruling in his case, which is a de facto attack upon the whole basis of current illiberal 'hate speech' legislation.

I was pointing out that people calling someone out for making such comments are not attacking free speech.

I have zero issues with you criticising or giving your view on someone's free speech....as that's your free speech.

You're making too big of a deal. People can't even speak their minds anymore. This is worse than in nazi or communist societies.

Seriously?

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

What do you reckon they would do if they were presented with video evidence of an away fan 4 or 5 years ago hurling homophobic insults at Brighton fans/players during a game at the Amex? Forgive and forget as it was a few years ago?

Dont ask him that (see his reply to me above)

Everybody should have the God-given right to tell someone else he's a "thing". He didn't hit or injure the man in any way.

I very much believe in free speech but I personally find this somewhat offensive

NO. They are taking a sensible attitude because the offence happened six years ago when he wasn't one of their players.

I have no doubt that if a player made a homophobic tweet now their reaction would be very different

Agreed. Old news. Move on.
