If we were prepared to buy Adamou and pay a bit for Guiata in January and be prepared for Cabaye to turn down the halving of his wages then there must obviously be funds for Cabaye’s replacement. We, me included, were impressed for a change that they were thinking ahead in January.

Either that money is still available or we get relegated, it’s that simple. My prediction is the former but Parish and Hodgson keeping their cards close to their chests.

No.

Whatever Parish's shortcomings in the transfer market he is well aware that if he sells both without adequate replacements then we are doomed to relegation and he will be the biggest loser if that happens

Do you really think Zaha's agent negotiated a new contract last summer and didn't insist on a minimum release clause for a certain stature of club? For example, a Champions League club.

Truth is, last summer, Zaha had the club over a barrel. If he didn't sign then he'd be in the last year of his deal now so he agreed to sign a bigger contract and clauses in said contract.

This is standard for all good players are clubs outside of the big 6/8.

Furthermore, some people forget we have to give Man Utd a percentage of the profit, thought to be 20% because we bought Zaha back for under half price.

So, to recap, we might not have a choice but to accept a bid from Spurs, Dortmund or whoever if they match the clause but Everton and Chelsea can go whistle.

My reading of the situation is that Roy isn't playing the game. He's watching Parish and Freedman holding their cards close to their chest.

In interviews Roy has said he has told Parish and Freedman what he needs and they he'll see what they can get. That doesn't sound like he's actively involved.

The fact Roy was quite dismissive about Rakip's ability was interesting and eye opening.

I don’t know where some of this negativity comes from. SP one of the better chairman’s out there.

Did anyone see the accounts, it shows we have the worst wage to income ratio in the league. We are also investing into the stadium. So it doesn’t take an idiot to work out we have no money.

Roy did lean towards transfers being thin and the loan market being an option but he also said that Wilf and Townsend were not for sale.

I’d rather we keep our team with a couple of loan additions instead of selling our prize assets to raise funds.

An ealier poster mentioned Leicester, Burnley, and Southampton...you forget that these clubs raise lots of money in player sales and have European football.

Keane - Everton 30+m
Mahrez and Kante 100+m
VVD 75+m

We have not sold anyone really since Bolasie but since then, spent 100million.

We all need to back the team, from the chairman to tea lady and get to grips that if we want to move forward, we need to be patient and experience a couple of tough seasons.

....By tough seasons I mean, watching premier league football, seeing a packed Selhurst and being amazed ty the likes of Wilf Zaha week in week out. I mean take me back to the Trevor Francis times any day

We don’t have ‘no money’, we have less than the maximum we could spend because of previous windows and the wage bill. The wage bill has already been reduced and I’ll say again we bid for players in January and we still need that centre mid with those funds and we were well aware of it when we were prepared for Cabaye turning down reduced wages.

So your summing of people being idiots is wrong, unless you think being a crucial midfielder down isn’t idiotic.

Plural of chairman is chairmen.

Sorry, perhaps I didn’t explain myself very well. Anyone who thought I meant we literally have no money, what I was trying to say was we don’t have millions needed to bring in quality new players. Anyone who thinks we have millions to buy new players, yes I’m calling you an idiot (there I said it)

Our midfield is lights, never said it wasn’t but still more competitive than Huddersfield, Cardiff, Southampton, wolves in my opinion. A loan singing or two and I think we could challenge for another top ten finish.

What about the £20 million in bids for Adamou and Guaita and the fact we’re one big influential player in Cabaye down. Does that not suit your ‘you’re an idiot’ (if you think Parish or the club can/should spend or deserves criticism now and then)?

Then we'll be in a relegation struggle followed by Championship football in 2019. There's no standing still in the PL; just progress or going backwards.

We have bid for lots of players over the past two years but not got anyone of them. Still does not hide the facts

All below are apron.

Sold
Bolasie £28m
Gayle 10m

Brought
Soare 3.5
Benteke 30m
Tomkins 10m
Van Arnholt 14m
Schlupp 12m
Luka 11m
Sako 24m
Sorloth 11m
Jairo 8m

TOTAL -75 million (give or take a million)

- Add to this that we are funding a huge stadium upgrade
- Add to this that we have the biggest wage to income
ratio in the premier league

Means we have very little money. Unless I have missed something????

I don’t want to get relegated, but I can see it getting worse before it gets better. Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot

Those are for 2 seasons before this season. The average spend is about £45 mil per season so we therefore have SOME money to spend even after subtracting the higher wage bill we’ve been paying.

Again, why did we bid all that money in January for positions Parish knew we’d more than likely need to fill, and we still do need to fill? Either we have the money or Parish is an idiot and not beyond criticism.

Our wage ratio was like 72%. That means for every 100million we earn, 72 million on wages. For the dummies out there, If our average spend over the last two seasons has been 45 million....guess what....WE ARE LOSING MONEY.

.... and these are the sort of people that attend the same matches as me. (Hand over eyes monkey emoji)

Plus we are trying to build a new stand. So we need to put aside even more money we haven’t got.

I do not know where the money came from for the players in January. I can only speculate and perhaps it was gamble like Villa to spend in January to secure perm survival.

I’m just looking at the hard facts which is clear for everyone to see. We cannot continue in the same way we have done in the past two/three seasons. We need to change direction which is difficult for some fans to understand. But I’m confident in Steve, Roy and the team to pull through. I hope you are too

Funnily enough i read somewhere recently that we're in 10th position in the 'longevity of clubs that currently play in the PL' table! Who'd have thought that back in 2010?

In Steve i trust.
