Yes, the country is (for the time being) screwed, but that could easily happen here.
(As you know i'll take any opportunity to 'alert' people who think they are safe from any danger.........when really we aren't immune).

I was reading today that good meat is rotting because the electricity is so intermittent that it's messing up refrigeration and making people ill. £1 million worth of Bolivars when Maduro came to power in 2013 is worth £4.04 today according to the Times.

If the Times is so knowledgable Chris can you tell us why they did not know anything about the financial crash of 2008?

Perhaps we all know bugger all really ....

The media though, whose job is to know, know absolutely f**k all.

That we do know.

If it all goes wrong for us we can all be comforted that in Venezuela they have high inflation.

High inflation and no hard currency - the journalist in Caracas is Stephen Gibbs.

Socialism is a moral philosophy trying to be an economic one.

Socialism is all about equality.....that's because its ultimate aim, unless resisted, is communism.

And communism always succeeds with equality.....because everyone starves equally.

Surely the role of the media is to report the news not to speculate on the future

Stop blaming Venezuela on socialism. If Maduro was a capitalist, he would still be running Venezuela into the ground.
Its all down to ineptness, sheer idiocy, and the fact that the guy is several cards short of a full deck.
It is depressing what Venezuela has become, kids dying of starvation every day.
Chavez was a socialist, and Venezuela was far far better off with him that Maduro. Though Chavez had some wild and whacky ideas, he was looking out for the people of Venezuela.
Maduro, is a clueless puppet, and Cuba are pulling the strings.

Haha! You are so in denial. Maduro grew up a socialist and has adopted socialist policies while president. It's not really disputed. Chavez cashed in on the oil boom and went on to piss the money up the wall. Both of them f***ed the country.

That's pretty much the most accurate analysis anyone ever needs to make on Venezuala.

Malduro must have 100 lines.

Sent to bed and no tuck.
