I understand what you’re saying and the HF are bringing a new ‘nurture’ to Selhurst Park. This whole issue has really highlighted what we all knew about generally two types of supporters that Parish doesn’t really get, but certainly gets the HF constantly singing, although he doesn’t get that not that many will sing for 96 minutes.

‘Many of them will just not come any more as their social groups are broken up, the seats are harder to get to, old people have to sit in the rain and the more infirm lose their helpers etc.’ Is all of that you say really true?

Edited by reading the BBS thred on this I counted a total of eight who can't get seats tofether who have said stuff it and won't be coming again.Another said the same "Stuff Parish I won't go where I;m not wanted". There was a feeling running though all the pages I read that the HF are becoming hated for their actions this season
Great business Steve NOT.

You said many won’t be coming, listing loads of physical disabilities and hardship with the elderly sitting in the rain (very tabloid headline) and then you’ve said you counted 8. Eight. Parish has handled this very badly, but 8? Have these 8 said they’re going to contact the club with their specific case?

I know of 8 in my row. One lady who came with her now deceased friend as kind of a ritual homage won’t come next season. The guy with the stick at the end. The group of four old boys. And a couple who aren’t well enough to sit in the rain. Just one row. The demographics are mostly older people who have been in the row for 23 years

You are all missing some big points here because as usual some of you got personal and ‘emotional’.......!

IMHO The formula used to work because ;

. On scoring and celebrating a goal The players were ‘conditioned’ to ‘connect’ and run to a safe part of the stadium where fans were waiting for that special mutual exchange of energy

. The corner section galvanised another great section of fans in the ‘Arthur’ and encouraged backwards forwards ‘singing and banter momentum ‘

. The corner ‘configuration meant fans standing were less threatening to views of their colleagues the diaphragm could generate more energy and noise / vibration which reverberated to their neighbours and the players on the pitch

. The media / commentary box is just above and the noise and visual scenes of the palace faithful below spread a ‘message’ to other teams and fans globally that ‘palace fans’ are noises and passionate

The timing of the HF debacle and departure was ludicrous. We needed a good start and momentum at a tough timetable period I don’t think people thought the whole thing through from a common sense point of view

I personally challenge the HF to come out of hiding and show if they actually still exist or if in fact as I suspect have run out of energy and frittered away

Time will tell

In the Championship we tended to do far better at home than we have done in the PL of late.

In our last season in the Championship we only lost 2 Home league games out of 23 matches, the season before that we lost 5 at Home and the season before that we lost 6 at home. The team haven't given us too much to get excited about at home of late !

Due to chronic mismanagement on and off the pitch at this level. Pulis, Pardew, De Boer, scouting, the HF debacle. There's one common denominator...

Respectfully I have to disagree

There will be a 200 person waiting list once they've filled the 400. Probably many people not really suited to it but this is the new sexy.

And I reckon this will be the future for many copycat clubs. Watch Huddersfield and Watford. Leicester has been desperate to do this for ages. Whoever shows the way, there will be many on their tails.

We'll see.

What you're forgetting is the demographics of the HF who would want to fill the 400 seats in Block E.

If all these seats are for ST holders only, then the cost of a ST has to be considered - and a large number of the 16 - 24 age group who can afford a one off game at Wembley, may not want to or be able to afford or commit to a full priced ST in E Block.

I appreciate that they are 'Persona non grata' on HOL, however when Pardew joined we were 18th and he kept us up, as well as getting the team to an FA Cup Final. When Pulis joined we were 19th and he also saved us from the dreaded drop.

Whilst I appreciate the negatives surrounding both Pardew and Pulis, one could argue that they were both managerial appointments when we were in the mire and as such their primary objective was to avoid the drop - in this respect they delivered.

Oh come on those 400 ST’s will be gone as soon as they’re available. In a few pages time you’ll be saying how it’s going to be dangerous with 2 to a seat etc. You’ve probably already said it. The singing section is too small because there’ll be loads in B and C disconnected from it. The whole Holmesdale we aren’t ready for but 3, or at least the halves of 3 blocks with the other halves joining in is very much possible.

Briefly Willo. Short term appointments, both ready to take the cash and run

I don't know the thinking of these managers in terms of longevity.

In terms of Pardew he was in charge for nearly 2 years and the mood music was that Parish should have 'wielded the axe' long before he did.

Anyway the debate is moving away from the subject of this thread !

There will also be current non ST holders who will be attracted to return, like myself and a few of my mates. I don't expect to be lucky enough to get one though.

Demand will be very high. I'm certain of that.

My concern is for those NOT in the so called 'Singing section' who will have their view obscured by all these supporters standing throughout the game.

Persistent standing is against the ground regulations but clearly the club will choose to turn a blind eye as they have done before.
