I'm not much of a drinker.....more a social one. I tend to gravitate towards the most common stuff like Budweisers. So I thought why not branch out a little as well and have a little festive fun whilst doing it.

So today marks the start of an nine day series where I rate nine reasonably well known beers and ales.

Today kicks off the first but I'll play it safe and sample probably the most famous and internationally known aforementioned Budweiser......the tastes I got from this were fizzy, malty and hoppy....quite inoffensive.

A 7 out of 10.

Bud is neither beer or ale in my book, maybe original Czech Budvar is ok, if one is being very generous.

My beer of the moment is Tsingtao

It's imported from China, most other branded beers are imitations

Its the go to beer in most Chinese restaurants. Mind you I still haven't worked out how your pronounce it and even the Chinese seem to have different ideas.

I say Singtao (silent T) others pronounce the T. Anyway it's a nice beer from what I remember from my drinking days.

Cobra of course is the go to in Indian Restaurants and Peroni for Italian.

Effes if you fancy a Turkish

Recommend the Plum Porter available in the spoons at the moment - tasty and 4.8 at £2.15 a pint :-)

Budweiser Budvar is very nice. That stuff that calls itself "Budweiser" and comes from America is pisswater.

That sounds nice PC. Shame I'm barred from the 'Spoons in town so I'll have to wait 'til the work-boys get-together in Tunbridge Wells on the 28th to have a sample. Ollie's Dad,Ash.

A good white beer hits the spot.
Cloudy strong and refreshing.
Too much will screw you up though.
Like proper bad head like red wine
