Roy Hodgson?

21st in the Championship when he was appointed. 3rd the next year, then 2nd and promoted. Two seasons in the Prem, a cup run - lows and some highs, but what did the board expect, Europe?

Maybe Dowie fancies a move “closer to his family”?

I really hope they don't get Graham Potter cos he's a pretty fantastic manager. I'd rather see him at Palace when Roy goes.

I've heard he's magic...or is that a different Potter?

Sometimes it runs its course, and his style of football should only ever be short term, otherwise you’ll go backwards, as is happening. If anyone thinks Roy’s football is boring and frustrating then it’s nothing on their sh1t this season. I only hope this summer and next season is even worse and they go down. Premiership ready? Cringe. They haven’t evolved well at all. Let’s hope the decline continues, and with goal scoring problems and Murray winding down it’s likely.

Well I don't know enough about their squad and what style they are capable of - but they've had £200 million in telly money that they might not have budgetted for when they looked like they'd be in Div 1 in 2015.

Reminds me a tad of when Charlton got rid of Curbishley, to progress to the next level.

Hoping Brighton go the same way.

Houghton always struck me as a decent chap, and a competent Manager. Wouldn't mind him taking over from Roy, when the situation arises.

Only Curbishley’s football wasn’t all that bad and they were taking teams on and finishing a few places above mid table. Hughton (can anyone spell his name correctly?) has an awful style of football and they’re regressing by playing it. I think they’d be down with him and hopefully they’ll be down with someone else.

Noooooooooo.
His performance is as predictable as that of one A Pardew.
