Maybe he can turn the corner by discovering that he can rustle up both a 5 star pizza, and a mean paella. It all has to be factored in of course.

Yep, not everyone can be a huge success in life and you're only here to reproduce, nurture and die anyway....and if you can't do that just enjoy the ride and try to improve it. Let's hope it gets better for him.

I expect his Father is very pained about how to avoid the possible end game to his addiction.
