Many on here will recall that I was the human dartboard on HOL,tarred and feathered, thrown into the pestle and mortar and pummelled.Gladitorial hostility was aimed at me and persistant ordure heaped upon me which resulted in those darned 'Willo Threads' which certainly did not add value to this cherished site.Certainly the 'Referees' threads were awash with fire and brimstone hurled in my direction.

I was labelled amongst other things an 'Attention seeker' and anyone who knows me will vouch for the fact that I certainly don't come into that category.I consistently argued that I was far more self-deprecation than self-promotion and I continue in this vain.

Despite the ad-hominem attacks, I like to believe that I acted with comportment and I certainly did not gallivant down the alley whereby I resorted to personal insults as a substitute for mature and reasoned debate.

Thankfully the 'Willo threads' are now just history and I can honestly assert I bear no grudges or ill-will to all those who took it on themselves to hurl personal abuse in my direction.

On the subject of the thread I do echo the sentiment of the OP. I used to sometimes LOL at things on here but now many threads are just the usual suspects trading insults, it does get pretty tedious.

I know it';s been mentioned before but there really should be an 'ignore' button.

Then it's up to other posters to get off their backsides and contribute meaningful comments to the thread......

this site, like any other, can only ever be as good as it's posters.

The mods try very hard not to stifle genuine banter or debate, but it's not always that simple or that easy to find the right balance that suits everyone (and spares this site from getting slagged off all over social media and elsewhere for allowing certain types of postings
