If he does get a chance he's going to be a bit rusty having had no first team game time.

Reidewald was a bit wobbly when he came into the side when injuries resulted in Roy remembering he was on our books , however he he has improved.

If Camarasa doesn't feature in the cup game tomorrow then I don't think we will ever see him again and we will be left with a memory of one League Cup appearance and one Prem. League sub. appearance ( I think I am right in saying).Marginally better than Florian Marange but not by much.

As I said to stay in the premier league as he is doing and also as I did say! What I would do differently is use the youngsters by feeding them in slowly and not have them stuck on the bench for 90 odd minutes. Roy does not like to blood them for some reason unlike Chelsea who have tried all their young ones and are doing quite well to date.
Roy has players that have come in during a couple windows but because his style is different he will not play them or they only get one or two matches a season. He always sticks with Benteke saying he WILL come good and start scoring. This is B/S as Roy sets up the team to suit him which we ALL know does not work so we have the same old same old week in week out. You only have to read other posts on this subject and I NOT alone in my thinking.
Roy is good for keeping us in this division but do not expect top six or silverware!!

Please don't compare Chelsea's youngsters with ours. It's not a fair comparison. Their young players consist of some of the cream of their age group which have been loaned out to aid their development and are now receiving game time largely because of the recent transfer ban. The likes of Hudson-Odoi were threatening to leave because he wasn't being selected and he's considered one of the top young talents in the country !

I can't make a case for Roy's football being consistently attractive to watch, but it is effective and the means have so far justified the ends. I know there is an element on here that like to do nothing but moan about Hodgson. He's not perfect but he's doing a great job in the circumstances, and I'm surprised that someone like yourself that claims to be such a long time fan can't give him the credit he deserves.

And I certainly don't expect silverware or a top six finish, we don't have the financial resources to achieve that at this moment in time. And even that doesn't guarantee anything - as West Ham or Everton fans.

I'm with youy there Neillo. We've done remarkably well to have stayed in the Premier League as long as we have in this spell. Progress will be at a snail's pace until we sort out the long term priorities.

Its like I said if you bothered to read it that Roy is doing his job by keeping us in the premiership but he needs to blood some of the youngsters just to see how they do in the first team. Its no good keep saying that our youngsters are cra@ compared to Chelsea. IF we do not try it we will never know.
AS for being a long time fan I give credit where it is due and have said he is keeping us up which is one good thing but he needs to change his ways when it comes to him changing things if we are doing poorly in a match and do his subs sooner than on 80 mins like he tends to do. Roy will never change and that is a fact.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Against Norwich. 45, 60 and 83 minutes

He does change according to needs and resources. But he has his game plan which largely is effective, increasingly so

Why does he '' need '' to ? And if you bothered to read my post which you clearly didn't fully comprehend, at no time did I say that Palace's youngsters were '' crap '' compared to Chelsea's. What I did say is that Chelsea have a group of young players among the best in the country - are you disputing that ?

As for his use of subs, I think he has actually started to change things quicker now as per Mapletree's example. But don't let that stop you having another dig.

Yes and Hodgson has also been very consistent, lets see how the likes of Brighton and Sheffield.U appear late into next season, I'm quite upset with the prospect of Hodgson retiring due to his maturity because we will then be in the same boat and on the theme of subs Hodgson understands very well the mental state of a player when removed from a battle he has been perfect with it and we can see it with our consistency, his main problem and with us has been scoring the goals that his football deserves, we have been missing far too many opportunities and if we had scored just one more in every game we'd have everyone on here much more happy with him and many more points on the table ...just one silly miss turned into one goal!

Have we strayed too far away from the original question re Camarasa? If so, a new thread?

I get the feeling Camarasa has that effect.

Very odd he is not involved today.

He played in the league cup and I thought he looked ok (they all looked sh@t)

Guess that’s him done.

It seems Camarasa is history - at least in our club. I had high hopes for him after watching Cardiff a couple of games before they were relegated.
Can anyone please tell "the true story" why our manager constantly overlooked a type of player we sorely missed?
