It is too close to call but the Democrats must wonder where they have gone wrong again even if they do sneak over the line - which I suspect that they will.
They still ignore the ordinary U.S. citizen and even if they win they will have real problems if they don't change their tune.
Trump however is also a an arse - his mouth opens and he just spouts S***t!
I generally think he is better for the U.S. than Biden but it doesn't stop him behaving very badly indeed when he speaks.
Their postal vote system is rubbish - they should be dated no later than the end of October really and whilst he shouldn't accuse I do wonder whether the postal votes are possibly a little "crooked"
Win or lose the Democrats have again been taught a lesson that political arrogance is not wanted.
The Divided not the United States once again.

All seems to be coming down to Nevada – if Biden gets that, it's probably over. If Trump gets it, Biden is most likely done

I'm watching quite calmly, so need for any concerns.

Unlike Trump I am not suggesting that there are any "dirty tricks" involved in the voting process. Nor, so far as I can see, is anyone else.

What puzzles me is why he feels the need to do that when on the face of it, it seems there is a very real possibility he will win anyway. It only reconfirms my opinion that this man is totally unit to hold the post of President as the consequences will be to stir up discontent and further divide the people. A real leader speaks with calm reassurance at this point.

It all suggests to me that Trump knows he is probably just going to lose if he cannot get some of the votes thrown out.

However, I reserve my opinions until we finally know what has happened!

My overall sense though is one of sadness. The terrible divide in the USA is being further divided. The many good people there are being balanced by people whose values seem out of kilter with the modern world, together with some who have believed the lies about the intentions of the Democrats. That's not a healthy democracy and it sends a poor message to authoritarian regimes. Even if Trump is eventually removed questions will be asked as to how such a man, so clearly unfit to high office, came so close. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark!

Your Shakespearean quote right at the end of this post (from Hamlet, I believe) is bang on the money, Wisbech.

Why do you think Trump's been "draining the swamp" all this time?

Do try to keep up.

Enough of us have tried to illustrate this to you but you've been very stubborn.

I love the BBC's take on it - "let's assume that Biden will win the following States - that means he will be President".
They so want Trump out that they will make things up in the hope that it comes true.
It would be great if he won just to take the smirks off some BBC biased faces!

Trying to get my head round this.

111 electoral colleges to be announced.
Biden is 11 ahead.

So Trump needs 62 to win.
Trump ahead states worth in 69.

Alaska (3) is is almost certainly going to Trump.
Would be very surprising (16) if Georgia changes now as 92% of the vote counted and trump has a 3% lead.

North Carolina (15) is 49/50% to Trump with 92% of votes counted. Could go either way.

Pennsylvania (20) is 43/56% to trump with 74% of the votes counted. So of the remaining 26% to count, around 4/5 will need to vote Biden. I can't really see that happening.

Michigan (16) is 46/52% to Trump with 79% counted. Out of the remaining votes to be counted, Biden will need around 3/4. Looks unlikely.

NC seems to be the one where there is the most doubt, but looks like 55 going to trump. It really site on who wins NC, unless Wisconsin or Nevada goes to Trump. In which chase. Trump will almost certainly win.

Interesting BBC headline at the moment "Trump Falsely Claims Fraud". How do they know?

Trump has claimed fraud and so far has not produced any evidence to back up so it is an unsubstantiated allegation but that is not the same as falsely claiming. If it does turn out that there is fraud will the BBC retract their headline?

The only way that headline is correct is if the BBC can produce hard evidence that he has lied they can no more do that than Trump can prove there is fraud (at this stage). It will take months and multiple court cases before we know if Trump is lying or is correct.

I have just said exactly the same

What about those that believed the lies put out there by the Democrats? Don’t say they haven’t because every political party on earth do it. Twitter removing tweets that don’t meet their anti-Trump narrative, how democratic

The issue is, if we all took a step back, is that the polarisation of almost all of us is now at the stage where by is there any chance of common ground? On anything?

Been listening/reading a lot about the impact of Social Media recently on our brains and how the entire phenenoman is skewed to essentially drive us all into more extreme postions on almost anything because that is what drives up viewing/watching/listening figures. It is, quite literally, driving us all insane.

Where does it all actually end up?

I'd love Trump to win, largely because of the type of people who'd be terminally pissed off.

Loads who just have this view because it’s the fashion, the in-crowd or the loudest in the celebrity and social media world. Most wouldn’t have a clue on how trumpet performed before Covid. Explaining to them the ethnic minority vote for trumpet increased will be a good photo opportunity for blank looks.

It is probably fair to say that if Trump loses he can look at how badly he has handled the Pandemic.
If the election had been in February he would have likely walked it but his words and actions on the Coronavirus have shown him to be somewhat stupid - I am sure he isn't really - in almost everything he has done.
Other than that he has done okay bar his lack of Statesmanship.

Amazing that Trump has done so well.

I think he has every reason to believe that he could be cheated out of victory by fraud. His opponents have tried just about everything else to get rid of him.

It will be ironic and telling if Arizonza wins it for Biden since the place has been filling up with Mexicans by the million since the last election.

Americans better get used to immigrants choosing the president. Hardly a surprise that the Democrats have been so keen to keep those Mexicans coming.

Four more years of Trump will definitely irk the liberal left all over the globe, provide comedians and political pundits endless ammunition but gives the UK the best possibility of a free trade deal with the US. Many may not like him but I'd sooner do a deal with Trump than with Biden, a politician that puts the interests of Ireland first above ourselves.
