Stop coming onto me.

I think this is the general cut and thrust of it.

The possibility of him pulling it off now seems so remote, that personally I don't see the point in including it as a reasonable outcome scenario any more. Previously I would have but ongoing events are making it almost unviable. Hence my confidence in asserting 'It's done' now he's caved on transition. However, is it still possible? Sure.

That said, unlike some on here that will disregard the outcome whether it favours Biden or Trump due to their blinkered, partisan, quasi religious positions, it would be pretty stupid to continue to claim Trump had lost if he presents what he is calling 'great detail' in a 'really big lawsuit' and it is proven to be true, on the scale he is insinuating it to be. You would literally be an idiot to argue against that. It would be uncontestable, and he would write rightly get elected as a result.

Bit the longer this rumbles on, and the more republicans that start to turn, the closer we get to the call. And to me, it seems like all bluff, no stuff. Which is hardly a new strategy for him now is it.

Yeah, i was suprised so many on here couldn"t accept the result, sure their would have been some voter fraud, but thats on both sides, just colatoral damage in an election everywhere, but the outcome is inevitable, Bidens over 80000 in penn state alone, thats a lot of mistakes!Just suprised some seem to believe "the don" can turn this round!

I hear what you say but in my view it's too polarised.

There is a hell of a lot of anger....you read Mainey's post?.....Well, let's just say the anger is very real on both sides.

As for how separation eventually happens, that would be worked out.....I see cooperation militarily and in other fields obviously.....However, I also see two administrations because the differences are too great.

Fundamental differences on several amendments.

I just see it as inevitable. I understand if others disagree.

I realise the anger is real but the practical difficulties are just too big for it to be a realistic prospect. More authority to each state maybe, but there is already a great deal. What else practically could there be.

The most obvious change seems to me to make sure that whoever wins the popular vote in a Presidential election wins the Presidency. Getting rid of the arcane electoral college system would ensure that actions taken at Federal level have the will of the majority behind them. Then they could move to weighting each vote in the Senate with the number of people living in each state, thus ensuring proper representation there too.

Once these things are done then whilst people may remain angry they will know their voices have been heard proportionately. It would still take some time and a concerted effort at educating people but it can be done.

Let's not bore anyone reading with old battles about Trump's presidency.

If he does stay on though I'd definitely recommend a blood pressure monitor and a few months away from the news..

Unless there really has been some electoral fraud, which appears to be extremely unlikely, I cannot see any realistic scenario in which he stays on. Should he try it and the Supreme Court don't overturn it then a huge constitutional crisis would erupt. How that would be resolved doesn't bear thinking about so my instinct is that the Justices, whatever their political leanings might be, won't go down that road and just apply the law within the constitution.

Quite right too. This is no place for levity. People come here for enlightenment and to eschew thought crime not to caper about like a moon calf, a luddy-duddy or a jabbernowl. We’re not those.

Is there that many, not sure. Personally I was surprised how many on here couldn’t accept the Brexit result ( and some still can’t)

Winners winning graciously and losers accepting defeat is the best recipe. I didn’t see much of this from either side concerning Brexit.

There is a huge difference between what is happening in the USA and here over Brexit.

Objecting to the use of a referendum for party political purposes (to deal with the threat of UKIP) is a responsibility put on anyone who believes in Parliamentary democracy.

Trying to get Parliament to do their duty seems a task we all ought to support. Directly obstructing the necessary work involved in the transfer of power from one regime to the next is another.

Claiming that there has been foreign interference in a UK vote, when that interference has been identified by your own security services, is hardly a fraud. It's the truth. Claiming there is fraud without evidence is not the truth.

No-one in the UK is threatening violence or even a lack of co-operation over Brexit. Some are passionate about ensuring we achieve a "deal" that allows us to retain as many benefits as possible and to then move to trying to regain our membership and avoid the breakup of the UK.

That's all within the accepted norms of the UK political system. What is happening in the USA isn't. There it's all in uncharted waters.

I'll take your word for that. I have no experience to call on. Perhaps you have?
