I disagree, vaccinations have not done what they said they would do, I can give you a magic drink and tell you it will save your life, can't prove it, just trust me - that's the vaccine.

And right now, there is a 'mutated' virus that evades the jab, so therefor they say have another jab, which makes no sense. slapping 25 plasters on a broken leg won't fix it.

and what about in 6 months with a new strain and a booster needed for the last jab that's wore off?

Come on - if in spring 2020 we went about our lives as normal - yet mandated fast food, alcohol, smokes, spent money on 10 new icu's around the country - we would be in a better position - heck, we didn't even need those nightingale warehouse hospitals..

Let's face it, this is one big scam and those that don't see it is won't see it.

The flu jab gets altered every year to adapt to whatever strain is knocking about. And it’s been knocking about for a while.

When this becomes endemic it will simply become the same process as flu. Annual jabs. Not sure why that’s suddenly so surprising. We’ve literally been doing it since the 60s.

Was 1918 a scam?

Reality and various studies demonstrate the difference that vaccination has made. I think you started on the magic drinks before writing this.

Boosting immunity in line with studies that show it will likely make a meaningful difference certainly makes sense. Logically it should cushion of blow of a possible natural infection, and being that it takes no time at all and will likely be less of a burden on the NHS, I see little down side.

Much like the flu we can probably expect an annual update to protect the most vulnerable. For most people I would expect vaccination combined with natural infection to offer significant protection to those who come into contact with other variants. Specific to T cell immunity there hasn't been significant immune escape from any of these variants yet, which certainly bodes well even if you get infected with this variant or that. Then the covid itself realistically acts as a booster too.

If we'd not bothered vaccinating people, and instead said 'stop eating fast food' (as if those two messages are mutually exclusive), I very much doubt we'd be in a better position.

The vaccine isn't a scam. It's a useful tool in saving lives and without it a bad situation would've been even worse.

Over time you would.....though I'm not saying that certain demographics shouldn't protect themselves with vaccines....nor that a nanny state is overall a societally healthy development.

If this was all just about messaging, then there would be less to worry about.

Can some one explain why I'm suppose to take a booster vacine that gives me mild symptoms as an after effect for a varient that gives me mild symptoms?

It's so that the self righteous don't call you selfish.

You deciding what goes into your body is now seen as so controversial that the way it's going you'll soon need a vaccine ID with its date of boosters to take a bloody sh1t.....mostly from the same crowd who support 'my body, my choice'.

Hypocrisy on fire!

It's those who think like this who are self-righteous.

I don't think there is any prospect at all of vaccination becoming mandatory. It would be impractical to administer and be counter-productive in that it would turn those now regarded as selfish into martyrs. Exclusion is the way forward.

If society bans you from harming yourself, and threatening everyone else, by making the personal use of some drugs illegal, is it not logical that it should expect you to join in when a safe drug has been shown to benefit you, and everyone else?

If you take illegal drugs, there are consequences. So if you refuse the safe ones, it surely follows that there also ought to be consequences.

This isn't then about you being unable to decide what goes into your body. You can take an illegal drug if you wish, but expect to be punished, or rehabilitated if caught. Refuse the vaccine, and you shouldn't expect to be able to mix with the vaccinated.

That's life in a democracy.

Wow, talk about a sledgehammer to crack a walnut, this is more like a jack hammer.

All the signs are pointing towards a new variant that is more transmissable but causes less harm, funnily enough like the vast majority of viruses that morph along the way and which is entirely what was expected.

The talk of locking people down because they have made a choice over what is put in their body (that incidently the post war hippocratic oath actually supports) is way over the top.

I have no trouble socialising with the unvaccinated I just hope that if they do catch it they don't get a serious case.

Not so impractical that Indonesia (4th highest population in the world) and Italy haven’t done it.

From the BBC's website:-

"Health officials have renewed their call for everyone eligible to come forward for a Covid booster jab.

It comes after early analysis by the UK Health Security Agency showed a third vaccine dose prevents about 75% of people from getting any Covid symptoms.

The Omicron variant is spreading so quickly everyone is likely to come into contact with an infected person in the next few weeks, a scientist said."

This isn't about you. It's about us and the ability of the NHS to function.

It will be interesting to see the result. Indonesia has, I think, both a more compliant population and more authoritarian regime. Italy not so. There could be a backlash there.

I prefer encouraging donkeys to drink rather than trying to force them too!
