Sounds very plausible. But today I did see two tweets from 2 people dated 10th May I think, spotting DC in Durham. Could be bollox again, and if I wanted to sting DC I’d take a video on my phone. If you can use Twitter you can use a camera phone.

And if you are politically savvy enough to know who Cummings is and what he looks like (probably less than 10%) then I suspect a photograph would have been circulating ages ago. And why I smell a rat today. Cummings would have KNOWN this story would break. And that it would bring a deluge of the brown stuff down with it. He has a reputation for being a strategist, of seeing the wider picture.

Throw in the Civil Service tweet tonight, which in terms of how they are meant to behave is utterly beyond the pale, and you could be looking at one of the greatest acts of political subtefuge in a long, long time.

But he could also still be for the high-jump. Have to throw that in because I just cannot see how the claims of last night could have been made to such fanfare without solid back up evidence. Because if they were, then British journalism is truly in a bad, bad place. Basic rules being utterly ignored.

You took your degree and became a bean counter in an profession that looks to reduce taxes for organisations.....while at the same time virtue signalling for policies that will never damage you.

Don't talk to me about selfishness.

Millions of children in the poorest countries of the world are at threat of starving now because of these lockdowns.

OK, I will then. The idea that Cummings is just cleverer than those people that literally did as they were told is self serving drivel and indicates an underlying I’m all right jack ethos.

Or a Rasputin. And we all know how that ended up. Cummings might even get a cheesy pop song named after him in a few decade's time.

If it's anywhere near as good as the original then there's solace in that.

If all or some you say is true then DC must be getting that stimulation of pressure and adrenaline while being in control, or part control of what move happens on his side. I bet he’d rather be in hot water now than doing a run of the mill 9 to 5 job .

Cummings eventual downfall and he will end up going before the next election, is that he is a zealot. The Civil Service as a whole LOATHE him with a passion because he makes no bones about how useless he thinks they all are collectively and they will eventually get him. Question is how much damage/reform can he inflict/bring about before then and this is the real battle from here on, if the Media do not get him this week.

Cummings no doubt gets a huge buzz from being the enemy and I suspect his instinct is far more suited for attack than defence and therein could lay his demise. And Johnson is one of the most ruthless political operators in the modern era. Never been fooled by those slight gormless exterior. All act.

The second he views Cummings as a liability or a threat to his Premiership, he will drop him without a seconds hesitation.

I also believe that Cummings is a tad over-hyped. He got all the plaudits for the Brexit vote because I believe many on the Remain side could not bear to acknowledge that really it was Farage who shattered their dreams. That Film 4 'Brexit' film showed you that the nice middle-class Remain types much preferred the narrative of one of their own privately educated and Oxbridge University educated types, who had gone rogue, besting them rather than the coarse oafs of Farage and co.

But we will see. If the Media do not nail him this week then his nemesis will come in the form of a faceless Civil Servant.

Already noticed a lessening in the shrillness today. Saw claims last night that one of Cummings kids might be autistic. Meaning that the issue of childcare, and more importantly who is suitable for that role, becomes a lot more nuanced than normal.

Could be a lot of red-faces this morning.
