only a die hard Boris/Carrie fan would say this isnt a 'lockdown'.....its exactly that, just with a different name......Boris still lying his tits off!! Im still coming over for a big family Christmas, all this tier 1/2/3 is bollocks...

In central London people were getting the baton for peaceful protest. I agree that indoor close contact meets are where viruses infect. It’s always been the case. But asymptomatic infection apparently isn’t happening as was originally thought, and that’s coming from respected organisations. [Link] It probably is to some level, unless it’s just pre-symptom infection, but it isn’t to the level you avoid everyone like the plague, so schools being open but not having sleepovers I’d agree with. You can’t assume an infection has happened because breached lockdown. People have to and have been working all year. The one thing you can count on is that lower socioeconomic areas are a higher risk because of either work or property situations, or ignorance/not giving a sh1t. You then get ludicrous borders in between Oxted and Westerham when the issue is a problem elsewhere if people are ignoring all guidance. Edited by Rudi Hedman (29 Nov 2020 1.30pm)

I fully understand how lucky we are here and how tough it is for those in the cities. There must though be some way to get some kind of exercise in the fresh(ish) air, without too much danger.

When have shop workers been defended by their union? It’ll be worse for anyone in the hospitality industries. They’re mostly well and truly stuffed unless they get more furlough, and after that? Then there’s small businesses that can’t survive either.
