A while ago we had improved true Covid patient turnaround.

How about the Nightingales?
The Bristol one is being (part) used for general day patents. They said a couple of weeks ago if things got worse they would open them totally for Covid, then things went quite.

And bear in mind the rate of increase in positives was falling before lockdown 2 at the start of November, same as in March but it was obviously much higher and steeper to decline.

More than 130,000 vaccinated in UK in first week - [Link]

Not incredible numbers but at least its those who will benefit most, and if it ramps up from here that's something to be happy about.

I think secondary school teachers and staff should be moved right up the priority list to solve a load of issues. It’s not even relatively that many people but of course the short term and panic is priority.

I'm interested if having the vaccine will become part of teacher and nurse registration requirements.

After the NHS and care homes I agree. The media is saying the rest of us wont get it until the back end of next year.

Yes, that would definitely make sense, there's a good rationale for it. I'm surprised they're not already a top priority.

Countries are measured and compared on Covid deaths, even though they can’t be compared yet due to recording of deaths.

Germany stats aren’t good compared to when they locked down. They did say they felt they were lucky mainly young people were infected, but they did have tests at the time. Haven’t looked at recent death charts. Generally Covid eventually gets to places it was prevented from getting to. It’s just how you deal with it not getting to vulnerable people, or try postponing it over and over from getting to anyone.

Anyone know enough about vaccines to say if an oral variant would be feasible?

A friend of mine is working on the track and trace.

They told me that yesterday they spoke to a woman who was on her way to work and had symptoms. She told them she was to busy to deal with them and had ordered an NHS home test.

She can get a fine, but could her work also sack her if they find out she's ignored an instruction to self isolated?

If her work don't tell her to go home and self isolate, then could they be prosecuted under the Health and Safety at Work Act?

Surrey Tier 3. Looks like much of the country will be in Tier 3 for Christmas. Great, just what everyone wanted.
