Pretty soon all freedom of movement will end. This could start something the government may not like and if they try and force the vaccine on people then they will break every law on enforced medication that has been in place worldwide since WW2.

We are stuck with this virus, protect the vulnerable, let everyone else get on with it.

This is exactly what me and the Mrs think Eagle.

May sound a little harsh, but society, family and the economy have to go on.

Yep. But even during and after vaccinations they’ll want to carry on all the masks and all the rest of it that’ll keep millions unemployed and businesses closed. Tax revenues in April 2021 and 2022 to pay for it should make up for the loss of entertainment.

The economic and health fallout is going to be grim. Stay employed and healthy. 2 things too many don’t value, protect or are grateful they have or can have.

I think there is a difference between 'difficult', which implies suffocation, and 'more effort'. As before, it also depends on the mask. Medical grade are supposed to be harder to use, it's the trade off between comfort and absolute protection.

I've been using a 'U Mask' model two for the last few months (F1 use them across the paddock) – two piece, and five layer, with a thin swimsuit style outer and a replaceable antibacterial inner filter that is allegedly good for 150-200 hours. I wear it about 1 hour a day on average, so for me, the filter is good for 2-3 months.

At the start of this I tried quite a few different options, this one is by far the most comfortable of the lot and crucially offers some level of antibacterial element. But, would I wear it 24/7? No. Not unless I had to.

They're not cheap though, and you still need to wash the outer lycra layer regularly, but I'd rather wear something that offers some sort of protective barrier for myself and others than a piece of cloth.

I’ve done a search for these and I’m not having much joy or I might buy something that’s inadequate. Would you have a link or brand or something? Thanks.

I doubt the government have any idea at all yet how things will look once the country has been vaccinated. Currently they don’t know what they are doing from one week to another.

I would expect once everyone has been vaccinated that business will be encouraged to get back to normal.

We are stuck with it, but please be aware that protecting the vulnerable involves vaccinating the vulnerable, unless we'd like them to be locked away or at risk for the rest of their days. So we should be for the vaccine in that context as it will hasten a situation where we can get back to normal.

I don’t think people are aware how long vaccinating everyone will take.

No impact assessment was made before yesterday’s decision.

No impact assessment was made before the last 1 or 2 months of restrictions decisions.

Who isn't vulnerable?

I think vaccinating everyone over 70 who wants the vaccine will be done in a few months time max. Needs must. From what I've been told the over 75s are likely to get vaccinated at the start of Feb, but time will tell. By March several million should've been vaccinated and these will all be the most vulnerable in society. Logically cases will still be high, but my hope is that hospitalisations and deaths are low, in which case it should be the key to just carrying on as normal. I've given up trying to second guess the governments approach though at any point in time so who knows!

It should be the individuals choice, but there's a good case that the responsible thing to do is to get vaccinated to protect yourself and possibly others. Anyone under, say 60, is so far down the priority list right now though that it's more a theoretical stance for anyone but the most at risk groups.

As matter of interest though, I'd like to find the individuals adamantly against getting vaccinated, who would also be adamantly against receiving hospital treatment if they became ill. I very much doubt they exist.
