The current vaccine requires special handling and any GP surgery has to use it in 900 doses in 3 days so only the bigger surgeries are really interested. The Astra Zeneca one is a lot easier to manage so will allow more surgeries to take it up. As the weather improves the government could organise mass outdoor sessions. With all that said they will do well to offer everyone a vaccination by this time next year.

I appreciate that it's a bit of a 'riding by the seat of our pants' situation. My thought is that if we on one hand undermine or are suspicious of the vaccine, but on the other bemoan not getting back to normal, we should probably re-evaluate our thoughts on the former. It makes sense for at least the over 70s to receive this vaccine all things considered. Once that has happened I can't see how our lockdown loving government could keep pushing the economy further over the cliff if there much less consequence to covid-19 infection in unvaccinated groups.

Will have to see how things go I guess. So many things have been botched so far, that it'd be nice for something to eventually go to plan.

Who isn't vulnerable? This was the issue with people against protecting the vulnerable trying to include anybody they possibly could into vulnerable categories. Have a cut off at a mortality rate or a percentage of the population as well. I’ve spoken to a couple of people claiming they’re vulnerable and in fact they aren’t. If you didn’t receive a shielding letter from the doctor or over whichever age they select then you shouldn’t be in any vulnerable list if that’s what it had to come down to.

I've given up trying to second guess the governments approach though at any point in time so who knows! A caterham 82 year old I know had first vaccination yesterday and the 2nd is on 9th January. I’m not as confident as you on the government. The summer furlough and hospitals effectively closed all summer was ridiculous.

Or juggle the ball half the length of the pitch before smashing the ball in the goal.
