According to IMDB, Selhurst Park was used as a location for the following: I.D. (1995) I can't confess to having watched any of them! I have a vague memory of attending a match at Selhurst where cameras were present as part of the making of some film or TV fiction, but I can't be more specific. I'm thinking it may have been as long ago as the 70s. Maybe someone else remembers this. That’s great, thanks YT. A lot to go on there.

Well done Bubs some great research and reminders of some great shows. Abigail's Party with Alison Steadman if you've never seen it be prepared to cringe very seventies and of course The Firm Gary Oldman is brilliant in that very true to life. Shame most of the jokes were against Palace but I guess that's because if they had been against the big boys they would have got pelters.
Wasn't that ginger bloke in AP a triallist for Palace? I always felt a little guilty laughing at that play because it was rather condescending to the 'aspiring' working class. 'Ah a bottle of Beaujolais, I'll put it in the fridge'.

But as far as the Beaujolais is concerned, I think that if the writers thought they were mocking the aspirational working class, they were actually demonstrating their own ignorance. The clip from The Generation Game featuring Malcolm Allison is from the show broadcast on Christmas Day 1973. Brucie says "you got a draw last week" and Big Mal puts his hand to his forehead - both references to the terrible season we were having in Div 2 following our relegation from the top flight. I can't establish when the show was recorded, but I expect it was some time before Christmas i.e. before we achieved our first home win (Swindon) on 1 December and possibly even before our first (and only other by Christmas) win of the season away to Bristol City on 10 November (shown on Match of the Day, incidentally). Frustratingly, therefore, I can't establish which draw Brucie was referring to! Anyway, I've now got to go and watch some paint drying...

I put together a montage of clips, where Palace are mentioned or appear in some form in films or TV that is unrelated to football. I've had to edit a couple in a way that avoids You Tube's copyright systems.

Because according Ha ha. Yeah you're right. And when Lawrence proudly shows off his leatherbound collection of Shakespeare plays (or Dickens whatever) and says you don't actually read them, well that's was exactly the scenario in our household.

Sorry you feel like that. It’s not really promotion more knowing some on here would enjoy some of the stuff I put out. I was originally a happy holer for years but then a few close mates were posting on the BBS and so I levitated over there for obvious reasons. Simple as that. Haven’t really got enough hours in the day to devote to both. I really appreciate you posting your stuff on here Bubbs as we don't all spend time on both sites.
