yes can only imagine its the fees/break fees we would be liable for that wouldnt make the deal viable at 20m. If we could come out with what we paid for him thats got to be considered a win from what we saw of him at Palace

If that price tag is to believed that is an incredible amount of money for a player who never looked like hitting any kind of form in a Palace shirt. Take the 20 million jobbly wobblies and run...

It must be true its in the mail you know the paper that said Wilf was going every transfer window, but if the figures quoted on here are correct see if we get another 5m wont be a big profit but still money back

So we have to sell at 6.5m euros at the end of this season or give them 9m to break the deal?

This is cloud cuckoo land.

If this were true then it is beyond the sheer levels of incompetance the original deal suggested.

Next we will discover Wilf has an agreement he can leave on a free as long as a deal is done between 8 and 9 am on deadline day.

Or dougie would stay if he got a better offer somewhere else.

Palace fans like to get on Dougie’s back about recruitment, but recently we’ve actually done ok without spending much.

Ayew was arguably the buy of the summer in the premier league in terms of value per point.
Cahill was a great buy.
McCarthy was a good one too.
Guaita a top bargain.

In fact, we seem to do better the less money we spend.

Eze and Ferguson, clearly we don’t know yet but both look like the right sort of purchases.

Even Sorloth turned out to be a £20m striker. Didn’t see that one coming.

Vive le Roy!

Not just Roy. We watched him play and aside from a wrongly disallowed goal against Chelsea, he did nothing for Palace.

He must have improved but he couldn't have got much worse. Be glad to see if the back of him.

Agree with you

Three likely reason for good performance in Turkey.
First is simple enough, he has simply improved for whatever reason, coaching or experience something has clicked, his time at Palace sharpened him up or all of these.
Second he is in racing terms a flat track bully. Able to do well in easier leagues but does not have the speed of mind or technique to do it in the best leagues. Ive spent many happy days laughing at Brighton fans who tell me that their latest signing from Belgium or Holland will rip up the league only for them to struggle and disappear.
Third our system simple did not fit. People assume a good player should fit into any team but at high level you are going to struggle with square pegs in round holes. To be fair our style does not suit a proper number 9, Beneteke doesn't get the chances he might at other teams but or more likely he would get more chances to mess up at another team. Sorloth looked like a big lad who should fit our system and was still rubbish.

Being realistic if it was scenario one we were too early too let him go. If it is two sell him on and keep quiet. If it is three what were we going to do build a system round him.
It's possibly a mix of all three. He might do better in Germany especially with better service. I'm sure Man United fans have had this discussion about Zaha over the years which fits scenarios 1 and 3.

I always thought Sorloth had something. A fundamental problem with the prem is that it doesn't afford forwards an opportunity to play themselves in, to figure out & show how they can add to a team.

Sorloth was never believed in by the management or most fans. It's not always easy to turn that around. You see it time and time again with strikers across the division.

No belief=no goals.

Murray took a while to work for us in the championship. In the prem he would have been cast aside by fans and management alike-- no pace, no obvious skill, no goals. And then the pressure to deliver becomes immense.

It turned out he had something. And he happened to be in a place where he got to show it.

I think the situation is very much in Sorloths hands.

If he has the option, and from what I have read, he seems to have the option to terminate the loan.

He can then come back to Palace and then seal his move to Leipzig, Inter or whoever.

If he stays in Turkey for another season, something could happen to destroy his big move.

It would not impress the Turks though.

His father playede for Bursapor, so I imagine that there is always going to be a degree of difficulty. However, it's football and his father should probably be advising him to take the money.
