Like ever financial tangle it is easily sorted by sitting down (or zooming today) and thrashing it out.
If he wants to go to Leipzig and not come back to Palace then between the three teams a deal could be done quite easily with some give and take.
Will common sense prevail - unlikely!

Agreed - buyout only gets activated AFTER year 2 of loan so whilst we'll have to pay a loan break fee the deal can be done and in Palace's favour

Cardiff had to pay first instalment but I do not know after that. Feel sorry for Nantes

Cardiff lost the case and were ordered to pay. They refused and appealed to CAS.

I think if they buy him now they have to pay the amount in full straight away. The likelihood is any purchasing club would then want to buy in instalments so it's very likely that Trabzonspor would be worse off financially in the short term if they purchased now, which I don't think they are in a position to be in.

If they buy for £6m and the next club buys for £12m but pays over 3 years then they'd be £2m down on this years cash flow.

They are effectively under a transfer embargo as they failed FFP and have a European ban - so don't see how they can

That isn't my understanding as it has been written many times that Trabzonspor have to buy Sorloth at the pre agreed price if he plays more than 50% of next season's games and can buy him beforehand if they wish.

Surely the most likely scenario is that Trabzonspor will exercise their option to buy him now and then immediately sell him on to whoever

I think that there is a sub clause along the lines of the player and Trabzonspor agreeing - i.e. Sorloth has to agree. And that is why if we want him we should up his deal to reflect his improvement and price out Trabzonspor.

This Sorloth saga is almost as long running as Beowulf.

Could you kindly post a link to where that has been reported. I tried to find one could not.

Did find this:"The saga is further complicated by the fact Trabzonspor have an option to buy Sorloth for around £5.5million, though that is reportedly dependent on him playing 50 per cent of next season's matches."

The problem with this is we reportedly have no recall clause so the turkish club have to agree to loan break. If they do not they can prevent him playing for any other club during the period of the loan. So we could legally in position we can sell as he is our player but they can stop him playing for new club. Since he would not then play 50% of games for them the buy clause would be voided.

At the end of the day the view of the player will be paramount. If he wants to go to Another club or remain at Palace he can make it clear he will not sign for the Turks. They must then decide if they want to release him from loan and negotiate the terms with Palace

He probably can indicate that is what he wants but his registration to play matches is with Turks so I think they will have to agree.

Shamateurish by CPFC, if we get anything out of this will be by accident rather than design

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

The Turks want money, we want money, AS wants to move.
Pay the turks an amount, AS breaks his loan deal,we sell him and everyone wins.
Us them and the player.

Yet all of HOL was delighted when we got shot of a useless player and the feeling here was that we had struck a pretty decent deal in the circumstances.

It's all reminiscent of Winston Smith rewriting history in the Ministry of Truth
