Once Townsend was taken off we had no balance at all down the right and all our attacks went down the left channel.

It’s been mentioned by more than one person that It was wrong to take Townsend off but he rarely threatened and was poor. I thought nothing of it at the time. Neither had he been putting good balls into the box as some are suggesting.

The sub of Bats for McArthur looked like Roy trying to get the three points (many have been crying out for this) but I reckon probably cost us the one point.

This is just indicative of our paucity of options out wide.Townsend has not been effective in recent games but there is nobody to replace him on the right of midfield who looks comfortable in this position.
We don't have that over-lapping right-back who could provide a different dimension and Townsend would possibly benefit if we had one.

To those who are forecasting a relegation battle do they want Roy to go this weekend?
I’m not a Roy fan, but to me it would make no sense for him to leave now.
If we are in the bottom 3 at Christmas perhaps review the position but it seems premature at the moment.
I genuinely don’t think we are playing as badly as we were at the end of last season and we have players to return, most importantly Zaha.

Lose to WBA and yes, he has to go.

Any manager is only six games or so from the sack and our form over this last few games speaks for itself particularly against the back drop of end of last season. But let’s be honest we’re a one man show.

I think he’ll be under huge pressure if we fail to beat West Brom.

The next 3 home games after WBA are against Tottenham,Liverpool and Leicester.

I agree, but as I posted elsewhere, a defeat to West Brom would leave Hodgson highly exposed.

Another factor is the availability of potential replacements. If Parish decides he wants someone that is available now, with Premier League experience and who advocates a more adventurous style of play, then Eddie Howe is currently unemployed.

I'm not totally convinced by Howe, but he does tick a number of boxes.

I’m struggling to see which decent manager is going to put up with our ownership or DOF unless on a short term deal with a large bonus for keeping us up or with assurances about investment which evidence suggests isn’t likely to be forthcoming.

It’s just the total apathy for it all I have now. He’ll scrape past West Brom and then the vicious circle just goes on and on. Nothing will change at all until the club make a decision to make a change. Fully expecting Roy to be in charge next season.

We won't lose to West Brom. We'll just keep getting served up with this crap til the end of the season as Roy is an expert in achieving the bare minimum.

I have come out of retirement for one post only.

I can't believe my eyes when I am seeing such shortsightedness and impulsive comments. Roy Hodsgon's football has not been easy on the eye at all in recent years but guess what? We are celebrating our 7th Season this year in the premier league and we WILL be celebrating our 8th season in the premier league once Roy keeps us up once again, oh and that's for the 4th time in a row, the most of any manager in our history. The man deserves a flipping knighthood considering the dismal financial backing he has been given and how he has consistently picked up results in the best league in the world.

You want beautiful, easy on the eye flowing football? Well welcome to the championship crystal palace. WE ARE A COUNTER ATTACKING TEAM WE ARE NOT THAT GOOD ON THE BALL, FACE IT. One of the premier league's very best teams on the break over the last 7 seasons and Roy knows this and utilises his tactics to suit this obvious fact. Be careful what you wish for.

This is not to say Roy's tenure is not coming to an end, he is 73, it wouldn't take a genius to know that he hasn't got long left. But good lord what a job he has done here. Parish is not stupid, he knows time is ticking and im sure there are some contingencies in progress, because this will more than likely see a major shift in tactical setup due to a departure of a certain Wilfried Zaha looking the ever more likely.

Give the man a break palace fans, respect your elders, stop freaking out and let him do what he does best. Keeping us in the premier league.

ROY IN!
