I think Roy has done decent job, but it looks like he’s lost the players.
We looked so flat yesterday.
He’s clearly not going to be our coach next season so why not bring somebody in now.
It’s ideal for a new coach as we are in a decent position and he would get a transfer window. Would give us a head start for next season.
I’m just worried without a change we could get dragged in to a relegation battle. Some of the performances this year have been diabolical.

Our league record over the last 38 games is played 38 - won 10 - drawm 9 - lost 19 - GD is minus 23.
This would just about keep us up in a normal season.
I don't expect to get in to Europe or to win the League but I do expect us to be safe each season now without a worry - mid table mediocrity if you like.
We were clueless yesterday - part because of our ageing squad of course but more because our Manager puts square pegs in round holes ( just like Pardew)and then, when given the gift of playing 45 minutes against ten men does absolutely nothing to change tactics at all and just watches us turn up blind allies whilst letting in more goals and that to me is very scary indeed.
Good Managers change things - Mr Hodgson stands and stares and thinks that if he sticks his fingers in his ears whilst singing La La La that everything will be alright!
We have enough good players to have got a least a draw yesterday but we could not do it.
Yes of course the players must take some of the blame but they play the way they are told to play bar some individual errors which happen to every team in every game.
There was no plan, no togetherness or team spirit, we played too slowly whilst Villa played at speed, we gave away needless free kicks - the list is endless.
The players do not look like they want to play for Hodgson now - it really shows in my opinion.
So many players playing out of position and one or two just not doing their jobs at all with PVA being the number one example of that
If the teams below us win their games in hand we are in 16th place albeit 7 points off the relegation spots and we shouldn't be.
Our Manager needs to be relieved of his duties and we need someone who at least has a plan because right now we are absolutely not too good to go down this season.
If Eddie Howe was to agree to manage us then he should be put in charge sometime today.
He is a decent young Manager and Palace would be a step up from Bournemouth.
He wants to get back in to the game and Palace are ripe for some new ideas as well as we have enough points and enough good players for him to keep us up this season whilst he plans for the future.
Steve Parish must act decisively and quickly and there is no time like the present!

Seconded. It's not up to fans to have the answer but we can sure as hell tell when there needs to be a change

As for Roy, after his inspired move of replacing one defensive midfielder with another, when we are 2-0 down to 10 men, stupid is as stupid does, I guess.

The bloke knows football but a 3 year old could have cooked up a better substitution than that, perhaps even at half time.

He subbed Luka as he was on a yellow and lucky to have escaped a second. Jairo should have been in the team from the start anyway IMO.

Bring back Brolin

I'm one who sits on a fence on a lot of views but enjoy reading everyone's views and opinions and respect them so hope i don't get too much stick....
I might be a bit bias but know Roy and have spoken to him on many occasions after bad games and individual bad performances. And the consensus I got was he was there to be a political face in a multi billion game around the world where he is well thought of and highly regarded manager in football which has helped palace grow as a commercial asset. When I brought up players like benteke and Sakho it was almost like his answer was... I have to play them even if his body language told me he didn't want them anywhere near the team.
When he plays very solid defensive games and picks up points steadily he get ridiculed for boring football. So when he changes and trys the offensive game we get hit hard and look dreadful. But some times I think the players need to look harder and honestly at themselves. I understand he is the manager and should be able to motive the talented group of players we have. But if anyone actually watched the game today you would see how many mistakes the players made in the final 1/3. No matter how much coaching or good management... you expect every single professional footballer to make a pass to a team mate in offensive areas. We didn't do it once . And I read there were a little players out of position but once they cross that line they have to give it everything ifbthe wear that short we wish we could all wear so proudly but theae days money pays the bills and a lot ifbthe players just don't give a a toss.

Honestly I don't know what the answer is . I think as a tactically defensive coach Roy is up there as a top coach but I think the board have not supported him in bringing the players that he's actually wanted. He told me he desperately wanted 2 strikers 3 windows in a row and still the board didn't get who he wanted. I know when results don't honour waybthe manager is the one we all look at but we as a club are as good as we will ever be.. I am an ambitious guy and dream of winning the prem bit lets be real for a minute. I remember West ham fans hating bfs 6years ago but every year they stayed up in 'the promised land they in my opinion haven't improved but have spend 100s of millions . Does everyone remember when we got promoted how elated we were turning up watching our team play in the best league in the world buzzing every game even when we struggled. We need to get behind everyone at the club and some how create a buzz again i think we've all forgotten where we came from in 2010. I knowing hard but while he's in charge lets just support Roy. He really does have palaces best interests at heart .

Well done mate im glad you remember all that. Point is we aint that team anymore and we don't revert back to that I remember getting spanked 4 0 by scunthorpe utd on a miserable day. Doesn't mean I think roy should stay though cos those times were worse.

Roy cannot last forever. At his age he’s going to have to call it a day sooner rather than later. I have not heard any mention of a contract extension so assume this will be his final season ?

He’s going nowhere. We’ll somehow draw against Leicester as he’ll switch us back to our turgid best (!) where we defend for our lives. We’ll somehow pinch a result against Sheff Utd and normal service will be resumed.

We’ll always lose a few under Roy but there’s 3 worse sides than us this year, which will save our sorry arses!

That said, next season could be the one where we get caught out as our ageing squad will be that much older. The real worry is when we get relegated with an ancient squad as our starlets will be sold straight away. We will pay the ultimate price for continued poor / non squad investment sadly ...

I don't believe there is any appetite at this juncture to rid Roy Hodgson of his services as we are not in the relegation zone cut-adrift from the pack and there is a long way to go in the season.

Keeping him because of where he is from is utterly idiotic.

There's no magic money tree to rejuvenate the squad.

At 73, he doesn't have longevity to oversee a rebuild.

I thought that this might be a reason but watching closely yesterday I felt that age has caught up with the players and they were finished soon after the hour. Rejuvination is the byword with younger players being fed in,Tomkins,Reidewald and Mitchell MUST start the next match, followed by astute purchases.
