I can’t actually figure out how Parish can watch this every week and not think it’s time for a change. Clearly the squad have no confidence in him and it’s time for a change. Conceding 20 goals in the last 9 matches surely tells you everything you need to know.

McArthur needs a rest (two more games next week).
As for defence, suspect Clyne might come in and just hope Tomkins will be fit.

As for Benteke, he can go to Big Sam tomorrow as far as I'm concerned.

Benteke's assist seems to be ignored.

We didn't play any crosses until he was subbed off!

Let's not let the facts get in the way of our Benteke bashing though ay...

Of everyone tonight, Benteke is one of the least culpable. Ronaldo wouldn't have registered a shot on target with that crap going on behind him.

No ifs and no buts anymore, he needs to go. One win in nine games is utterly unacceptable and is relegation form. We're nine points ahead of the drop zone and just better pray that Fulham lose their games in hand or that could narrow very quickly.

He has taken all the joy out of supporting Palace at the moment. I'm utterly sick of his infuriating team selections, horrifically negative tactics and absolutely bizarre reluctance to make any sort of positive substitutions until we're already two goals down.

It isn't just Roy, I absolutely blame the board as well for a continued lack of investment that is tantamount to negligence. However, seeing as we are seemingly stuck with them, the least we could do is hire someone who, at the very least, offers the pretence of wishing to play vaguely entertaining football.

I get the frustration with both the Board and the manager but the anomaly for me is how there is complaint from so many that the players aren't good enough but still the expectation that those players will serve up attacking and entertaining football.

To me it matters not which combination of JMs, Luka, Riedewald, Schlupp etc no combination is going to bring us energetic attacking or entertaining football.

Neither is Benteke. He's fvcking rubbish.

I've never been worried about entertaining football but the biggest concern for me is how fragile we look as a defensive unit.

He was rubbish just as he has been for the last three years. Abysmal. Every bit as bad as the others in the team. Shameful lack of effort, running, strength control and skill.

People expecting beautiful football, nor are they ignoring the ability of the players.

Tonight, they are simply saying that is was obvious that a midfield paring would be completely over run, yet our experienced leader didn't do anything about it until we were 3-1 down.

You're defending him by making up false claims about what his critics are saying.

Isn't that the going rate for keeping a side up?

This.

Have heard (maybe on here) Big Sam is on 10m to keep WBA up. Think he may have an even bigger job than Roy.

What false claims Stanley? The Board's been full of complaints about only playing three defensive midfield players, lack of entertainment and negative tactics.

Not by me. In another post (on the match thread) I said that after his assist it seemed that he thought he'd done his work for the day. The way he jogged into the penalty area when Eze put in a ball most CFs would have died for convinced me that he's no longer interested in being the no. 9 whose job it is to get in where the action is. When he gets the ball in deeper positions he lacks the confidence to run with it and use his strength to keep defenders at bay. He needs to go somewhere else and quickly.

Now that Hodgson has confirmed that Mateta is available for the Wolves game, I'm happy for Benteke to go tomorrow if Big Sam wants him. Also we looked better tonight with the front 4 who finished the game, so Townsend should have a spell on the bench. In that final 15 or so, we even saw Eze in a more central role where he looked better.

You're claim was that people were asking for "energetic attacking or entertaining football".

There's a huge leap of faith between asking the manager to not play 36 games in a row with 3 defensive midfielders, and what you are claiming people are demanding.

But it's been explained to people like you hundreds of times and you just can't/won't understand the very important nuisance.

It's clear Roy will try exactly the same tactics as today in our upcoming fixtures, 2 wins in 13 games (against the team in 19th and 20th) and he hasn't sought to change anything.

Do you really think that if we do exactly the same thing again then the result will suddenly change?

The Benteke assist??... He passed it about 2 feet to Zaha.. My 7 year old could of assisted that... C'mon lets not clutch at straws here.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!
