Here in Malta we have TSN, which Wright must spend about half his waking life working for as he's always on it. He seems really negative about Palace these days for some reason and rarely has a good word to say about the club. Having said that, it seems very few people have anything positive to say about Palace except when Clinton shows up. I used to like hearing what pundits had to say (especially when we won) and would even try and find MOTD somewhere online, but these days they seem to always focus on the negative and if we win it's all about what the other team did wrong. As such, I have started making tea at half time and then I switch it off at full time and don't bother at all with MOTD.

I wish we had the option of Bright commentating on our games as he was great in preseason giving real insight on the squad but also offering valid criticism where appropriate.

It was easier for Cluttendunk to confess to his "errors" than to admit he was biassed against Palace. That's a big charge to make against a ref. But he reffed Palace 15 times without them winning once and he consistently gave dubious or 50:50 calls against them. He admitted (or someone said it on his behalf) that whenever the crowd was against him he was determined to push back, so the whole thing became a self-fulfilling prophesy. He makes constant calls against Palace, we get on his back, he digs in even further.
On top of all this, as revealed by his recent tv appearances, he remains totally up himself, a preening narcissist. We never heard the truth about why his contract to ref in Saudi was terminated halfway through, or why the Premier League wouldn't have him back.
I agree, time to return to the WBA match thread.

With the greatest of respect, Mark is not asking or yearning for any sympathy at all.He has been refreshingly honest and that should be applauded.

One suspects that there are those who believe that he was solely responsible for the fact that we failed to record a victory in those games he refereed.
Clearly the Hennessey 'Faux pas' to which Mark referred was due to the fact that our goalkeeper had Mark in his eyeline and was distracted!!!

I will not add any more to my sentiments in this post as any further comment will only be the catalyst for a dastardly Willo thread and the great and good in all honesty have had enough of them.

In any event, the discussion concerns the WBA game and NOT officiating in the FA Cup Final!

Clattenberg is a cheat when it comes to Palace games, always was and always will be. A true egomaniac, so so glad hes gone.....massively bent referee!!

I don’t give a toss about a Willo thread. You like him, most of the rest of us think he’s a huge,anti-palace, egotistical knobber. (In my personal opinion, of course). That’s not anti-Willo etc, it’s anti-Clattenburg.
Bloke was a shocking ref and a massive tool. I can never forgive him for that cringeworthy hugging crap he did with Ferguson before the final.
He wanted Man Utd to win and his poor officiating helped facilitate that. Should never have reffed that game and glad he’s gone. Hope he never refs in the English Leagues again.

I agree. Not allowing us through on goal was criminal in the final at Wembley. Criminal.
