The plan may or may not have been flawed but the execution (Biden led) was a complete disaster! Joe had every opportunity to rollback his predecessors intentions (as he did with most policies) but knew it was political suicide!

The country is numb to “everything over the last 3 years is Trump’s fault”. Joe takes zero accountability or criticism for his decision making!

Biden spent most of his first few days overturning Trump's decisions.

Afghanistan follows the usual pattern of 'if it went wrong it's Trump's fault'. Just like we heard from this particular poster that successes that Trump had were Obama's and he was just in office for the benefit.

He doesn't think he has TDS.

An alcoholic is the last to admit the truth.

I doubt whether anyone here, wherever they live, actually witnessed the withdrawal from Afghanistan. We all therefore rely on the media reports and analysis.

All I have done is point out the truth. That an agreement was negotiated by the Trump administration which sowed the seeds for the way the withdrawal proceeded. Not that the Biden administration wasn’t responsible for the final stages of the implementation.

I doubt that either Trump or Biden had too much input into the plan, or its execution, but that it was actually the responsibility of the chiefs of staff and their specialists.

It seems to me they were outwitted by the Taliban who they placed too much trust in to keep their word and the situation spiralled out of control.

So I don’t think it was either Trump’s or Biden’s fault.

I cannot see anything from the Trump years that has had any kind of enduring positive effect. Biden inherited a mess, had to immediately reverse some of the worst decisions and then set about trying to reboot the economy. Far from not accepting accountability or criticism he is not given any credit for the success of “Biden economics”. You can argue that the debt burden is far too high but you cannot argue about the fact that it made a difference. A difference that many seem not to realise. This was a real change and not simply a legacy from the previous administration coming into effect after a lag.

OK, these are just observations from here. I am not living there but every country was impacted by the pandemic ,and then the effects of Putin’s war, and the USA appears to be better off than almost anywhere else.

Neoliberals always blame others, they never take accountability for what they supported and enabled.

Somehow magically things go wrong and it's someone else.

It's like someone playing chess, making bad moves and then blaming the opponent.

Metaphorically these people don't own mirrors.

Ah yes, replacement theory nonsense from that paragon of neutrality, Elon Musk.

I also see that Donald is also starting to mouth off that if he doesn't win in November then the election must've been rigged (again).

What lovely people.

Of course.

The demographic of the United States isn't changing. It's all done with CGI.

How the telegraphed exit was conducted was a major flaw and had nothing to do with being “outwitted” by the Taliban?

As for not Biden’s fault then I ask you what is the role of the commander in chief when exiting a hostile country? Listen, plan execute and have accountability for the outcome?
