We’re going down at this rate

That’s my feeling as well I’m afraid to say

If we go with Wilf and Eze wide the future is bright. Townsend has to be dropped now. Another feeble performance and please don’t give me the usual “puts in a shift” nonsense. Cahill can warm the bench too. Woeful tonight but as usual everyone will let him off. Our best 11 is: Guiata; Clyne, Tomkins, Sakho, Mitchell; Eze, Jairo, Jimmy, Wilf; Ayew, Benteke.
Tonight’s ratings: Guiata 6: Ward 6, Kouyate 6, Cahill 4, Mitchell 5; Townsend 3, Luka 5, Jimmy 6, Eze 6; Benteke 6, Wilf 6.

Kouyate a 6???? He was 100% responsible for the first goal. Look at it, Ward was on Antonio and peeled off for their left back, Fornals, as he should have. Kouyate has Antonio and just totally lets him run away from him and doesn't track him one bit. I was shouting at the TV saying "who is tracking him?!". You can't let Antonio be free in the penalty area. Then he gets the ball in open space, does (to his credit) make a nice blind cross and Mitchell, who is up against Soucek in about a 6 inch height difference can't put him off the header.

Kouyate was likely responsible for the 2nd goal too. He gets at best a 2 in my book!

wow you are generous with score.

Hes an average midfielder who watches the ball and has no positioning sense as a defender..
Roys pet.

Hang on re Roy

Dougie tried to bring young players for Roy to play for the future of our club, but Roy wants to play the oldest players possible..

look back at the demise of Stoke, they relied on aging players!! then it was too late and are now an average Champ team!!

Whilst I agree Roy should be replaced at the end of the season he can only be part of the problem. The management must also take responsibility for leaving him with an ageing squad . You could see the effects of that tonight when the Spammers just had more energy to outrun our ageing players. The players themselves also bear responsibility for the poor performance their passing was very bad even worse than normal. So it is the collective that is the problem.
Roy must stay till the end of the season as he does at least know how to get them to win the odd match to enable us to survive this season. After that all hell can be let lose and a culling fest can ensue. COYP

OMG Chek
Galloping around makes a good midfielder for palace, you had to much to drink after that match.. Hes clueless!

Centre midfeld is where all our problems start week in and out, we get overrun overly week. For the rest of the season I would go back to 4-5-1 and shore up the middle of the park. Just play it safe and pick up the points to stay up.

He was even more exposed tonight.

There was no Ray to help cover up the cracks.

A manager is supposed to managed, at no time did I see any response from Roy from the dug out.. did you?

Time for some fresh ideas is so long overdue it’s pathetic.

We do have some decent players- Roy is the problem.

Now come the string of BS excuses from Roy about how good they were and how he “can’t fault the effort of the players”. But we came up against an in form side!

I’d love someone to ask him:
1. Roy Why didn’t you react at half time and make changes?
2. Given the substitutions you did eventually make had a positive impact do you now regret leaving it until it was too late to effect the result?

I’m so fed up with this!

Once again you are pathetic. I don't agree with Roy on this, but making fun of someone's disability proves how unimaginative and childish you truly are.

I'm sow sowwy

Since when has a minor speech impediment been a disability. That's just downgrading disability. Snowflake.

Yet again wrong tactics and straitjacking the talent we have.
4-3-3 for me with Zaha, Eze and Batshuayi or Ayew given a free role in front of 3 strong midfielders. Drop Luka and play Riedewald, McCarthy and McCarthur.
Roy is strangling the life out of the team and needs to NOW!

Let's keep the ball this season!

Got to be 20 plus times that he was dispossessed tonight... When the stats come out, it would be a joke!

Same every week. Somehow gets away with it

As has been said or intimated, the score-line flattered us tonight.

Whilst we can moan at our defence for conceding and giving Antonio and others a hatful chances they should have taken, our two ageing CDMs were woeful - slow, dwelt on the ball, got dispossessed and were overrun by a more dynamic and numerically superior opposition midfield. Even Karen Carney recognized that and couldn't understand why Hodgson didn't do something about it half-time.

As for Benteke, after his assist for Wilf's goal he seemed to think his work was done for the night. Eze whips in a ball centre forwards thrive on and Tekkers can be seen slowly jogging into the penalty box. Big Sam you can have him tomorrow.

Whilst it was too little too late, I thought the last 15 mins with Wilf, Batshuayi, Eze and Ayew up front looked promising. It also helped that Jairo was on with more accurate passes than Luka.

With Wolves coming up on Saturday (the first of six games we really mustn't lose and from which we need at least 12 points) I'd go with Wilf, Eze, Ayew and (if available) Mateta (otherwise Batshuayi), bench Townsend, Benteke, Luka and McArthur (he needs a rest).

As for the defence, if Tomkins isn't fit then we have problems.

Townsend has been playing like that for some time. When Roy sits down to pick the team only he knows the reason why he gets in. It’s a mystery to everyone else.

I really do question why the hell batshayi hasn’t been given a chance this whole season. He looks more threatening than benteke and actually RUNS. Benteke. What the hell is toys problem picking the same players when there is a better alternative. Why jairo doesn’t start I don’t know. We are in trouble
