The media haven't given much space to Thomas Markle's comment that he doubted whether anyone in the Royal family were racist but it was probably just a thoughtless daft comment by someone. He also said that America was a far more racist country than Britain

In respect of this, imagine, for instance, the tourist money the Royals bring in. London is one of the top tourist destinations in the world and the Royals are a big part of that. The revenue is literally billions. That's about as far as my take on them goes. They're generally good for the country, I believe. Just make sure they have no say in politics - which is the basic issue with Charles. Plus, it's obvious Meghan was never going to shut up either.

Not so much anymore I would imagine, Andrew kicked the door in and it appears what's inside is exactly what's on the outside up to about the age of Forty, where this problem thankfully appears to be starting to wane somewhat.

I saw the Queen today on tv having a zoom call and she looked about 70.
