If it is a manager involved in the playoffs then you would imagine he has already agreed to job regardless of his team gain promotion? Which is a big ask ?

On the basis that it’s been known for some time that Roy was leaving I’m fairly sure that an appointment will be announced shortly after this season ends.
The club must have been playing their cards close to their chest as no real concrete information as to the successor has emerged.
We’ve been linked with Howe, Dyche, Lampard and the Swansea and Barnsley managers which are a pretty disparate bunch in terms of experience and playing styles.
It’s a gamble because players can determine whether they are having a manager within the first week of appointment .
De Boer apparently gave a wonderful interview and had magnificent credentials as a player but he antagonised senior professionals shortly after commencing and we know how that ended.
If Lampard came in, for example , and brought in a few young players whom he selected over established players how would this go down with the squad? It is known he fell out with a number of senior players at Chelsea.
Doesn’t mean the same thing would happen again, but it surely has to be a consideration.
On the other hand somebody like Cooper has no track record in the Premier League and is an unknown quantity, particularly if early results went against him.
Dyche would seem to be the safest bet, but I can’t see that happening.

Nor did Potter!

Bring back Brolin

It could be an offer in the air riding on results.

Dyche or Lampard I would put money on with Howe outsider or backup as such.

But would these people really want to come to Palace not so sure they would (their is a reason why we keep having managers walking)

If it was out of Cooper and Ishmael I'd probably side with Cooper. Just because his preferred 4231 is easier for us to transition into than Ishmael's preferred 3 at the back. He may be a decent manager but the squad would need an even bigger overhaul and we all know how 3 at the back went for us last time.

Plus if it was Cooper I wouldn't mind him getting Guehi again who he currently has on loan from Chelsea. Looks like the kind of youthful CB prospect we're crying out for.

This is what worries, there is a reason why experienced managers have walked, even though things had gone fairly well for them. It almost certainly involved either a lack of say in recruitment, or a lack of money over the coming seasons. Hodgsons stint rather proves lack of money was certainly one.And Hodgson, himself has said he still has more to give, well apparently not here. The point being is Hodgson, getting out in his own gentlemanly way, after getting fed up with not getting more than a collection of cheap deals to work with ,year on year in the so-called best league in the world. .?
I wouldn’t mind Lampard, if he gets the right backing but the record suggest that will not happen. Footballs full of surprises it’s not out of the question ,but something has to change on the financial side of things.

Give over Willo!

During all the speculation about Hodgson leaving you’ve been telling us repeatedly that as far as you know ‘there isn’t a vacancy’ and yet now, two days after the announcement, you come out with that?!

Priceless! 😂

Lampard has reportedly pulled out of the running as he fears us being in a relegation battle next season. Hardly the fighting spirit we need if true, though I didn't want the fat b****** anyway.

Hopefully we're just waiting for Barnsley to lose in the playoffs and then will announce Ismael.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Ismael has 0 Prem experience and only 1 full year in England.

I can't see Parish even thinking of a guy with a CV like that.

He chose Frank who had a much better CV (even done well since leaving Palace) fired the man after 6 games you really think he would take a big risk on this other guy when the squad needs a rebuild.

If he could Big Sam would be in the list but no way he would return to the club plus not sure fans would accept that

Well, considering interviews that Frank Lampard has taken part in today, speaking about being open to managing in the Championship, it is safe to say that even if Frank does become Palace manager in the end, the deal certainly hasn't been done yet.

So once again, Dazza asserting that the deal is done and simply pending announcement is utterly mendacious. Not sure why he even gets away with it in all honesty. It's laughable.
