Gutted this has fallen through, feel like he would have done a great job at Palace.
Intruiged to know what demands have broken this down!

It appears getting Nuno would have used up all our transfer budget on his back room staff. Loyalty to existing back room staff already at Palace is to be admired.
The saga moves on to another stage, the crazy world of football never ceases to amaze.

I read one story that says deal is off and then I read this.

"Nuno Espirito Santo has rejected an offer from Everton to become the new Crystal Palace maanger, Football Insider can exclusively reveal." - I like how it reads as if Everton offered Nuno the Palace job

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

TalkSPORT just said looks he was never in the running for the Palace job at all (as he wouldn’t come to us) It looks like we were just used by Mendes to get the Everton gig over the line.

If so hook line and sinker come to mind, along with the murky depths of football agents today by using clubs like us simply to get their client a bigger and better job.

I can't believe the issue of amount of staff he wants to bring is a deal breaker at this late stage.
It's such a fundamental aspect I just don't see it as emerging now and would expect it to have been raised as a pre condition from Nuno at the outset.
A lot of the reports smack of agents positioning their clients.
It's not just us; it's the same with Spurs, Everton and WBA.
What I don't understand is why we hadn't lined up our target with the notice we had from Roy he was leaving.
Parish has said he didn't want to make enquiries about a new manager while Roy was still in post out of respect to Roy.
This doesn't seem right.
It's either spin or it smacks of haphazard successsion planning.

Something about this entire move was never adding up. But all you get is dogs abuse for pointing that out to Palace fans as if you just pissed on their bonfire.

We're the Arthur over ere!

LOL - Frank’s odds have started to shorten a bit, Cooper has moved to 1/1 and Howe/Dyche have shortened a bit.
Dazza may be bang on yet!

Got any links? I only saw reports that the deal was very close, NOT that he had signed last night.

Just to answer your question:

Talksport just said he came in with new demands at the 11th hour.

Nuno Espirito Santo has rejected an offer from Everton to become the new Crystal Palace maanger, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

Graeme Bailey - Two manager jobs sorted tonight...Crystal Palace have secured a deal for Nuno Espirito Santo, who has been firmly in contention for Everton. West Brom are going for former Huddersfield boss David Wagner after their Chinese owners decided against appointing Chris Wilder.

Peter O'Rourke - Former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has agreed a deal to become Crystal Palace’s new manager.

These are just a minority of many senior people that were reporting this last night

You said top journalists were reporting he had actually ‘signed’, which is very different. Do you have the links you were referring to which said he had signed?

We and other clubs might well of done this. However our original target might have said no, been poached by someone else in the meantime or just changed his mind.
Palace might well have aimed their sights at larger targets as and when they become available just to see who might fill them!
Fans don't often get to the truth of many news stories anyway as they are fed a constant stream of crap from the media and lazy Journo's
